「The hotel is right next to the national park so great for hiking. The hotel is also in the centre of Saariselkä which is compact and pedestrian friendly so this makes it easy if you’re using buses to get in and out of town and don’t have a vehicle. Breakfast and dinner at the restaurant are good. The hotel was clean and comfortable and the staff are friendly. Be aware that activities book out and so if you want to do more than hiking you’ll need to plan and book ahead.」

As an asian city person, it was almost impossible to imagine living on a lake during winter. Although I couldn’t see any aurora during the days I stayed in Inari, it was satisfying looking into the sky in the cabin at night and under sunlight. The hosts are very nice and friendly that he helped me to check the aurora status and the flight status of leaving Inari (since the corona virus is spreading and many flight has been cancelled). He also helped me to register for the activities in Inari...
