Rural idyll near the Loire

We really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the countryside and the beautiful holiday flat. Beautiful garden, very friendly landlady and an ideal starting point for day trips.

Nous avons apprécié l accueil des propriétaires et la maison notamment literie de qualité. La maison est bien située car à proximité de Blois et toutes les visites étaient dans un rayon d environ 30 mns.

Did not live up to expectations

The gite was up a steep narrow hill, set in a sheltered garden with an outside seating area in a pleasant rural setting with easy access to the places of interest on the Loire and the lovely surrounding countryside but it was disappointing that this Gite was not up to the standard of the other gites over the years that we have visited and enjoyed France. Some of the key issues were: - The owner insisted on an additional payment for cleaning on our arrival after asking for payments for heat and bedding, giving us the impression that these were the only extras. We bought our own towels to avoid having to pay for those as well; - The banding of electrical supply to the Gite did not let us use the oven with other electrical appliances or lights as the supply cut off and had to be reset. It was necessary to use the oven grill to make toast, requiring kneeling on the floor as there was no toaster; - When the owner arrived to meet us, she immediately switched off the lights that we had put on to read in the dark cottage, with no explanation; - The beds were not made up on arrival and one bedroom’s access to the bathroom was through the other bedroom and passing close to both beds giving no privacy; - The bathroom was well equipped but very small and on arrival the step into the shower was not clean with hair and soap on the step from a previous user; - Both coffee machines needed descaling; - There were two low beams that resulted in everyone having bruised heads – one was on the poorly constructed stair with narrow treads which distracted from avoiding that low beam at the bottom. The second was in the entrance to the first bedroom, which had no door. There was a step up into the entrance with a stoop to fit under the low beam across the entrance. This made going to the bathroom at night without disturbing the two sleeping in the first bedroom difficult as was avoiding the two beams on the way. (We all have the scars to prove it!)

Rustig gelegen vakantiehuis

Het is een rustig gelegen vakantiehuis in een klein dorp. De woning ligt centraal en daarom zijn er op korte reisafstand veel leuke dagtochten te maken. Het huis is van alle gemakken voorzien. Toch voldeed het op sommige punten niet helemaal aan onze verwachtingen. Het huis heeft weliswaar 2 slaapkamers, maar je moet altijd door de ene slaapkamer om in de andere te kunnen komen. Ook waren er op de bovenverdieping geen kasten om kleding in op te bergen. De afgelopen tijd zijn er wel goede vernieuwingen doorgevoerd in het huis en daardoor komen de foto's niet altijd overeen. Tenslotte hebben wij een discussie gehad over de schoonmaakkosten. Volgens ons - en in de Nederlandse advertentie staat ook nog steed dat deze optioneel zijn - waren de schoonmaakkosten verplicht. We hebben het zo gelaten en de kosten betaald.

Belle petite propriété à proximité des châteaux

Nous avons passé un agréable séjour dans la région de Blois, avec ce joli pied à terre qui se trouve dans un très bel environnement dans la campagne, mais à proximité de Blois. La propriétaire est charmante et pleine de bons conseils pour découvrir cette région.

Wunderschönes, ruhiges Ferienhaus

Wir haben uns in dem Ferienhaus, das am Ende einer Sackgasse liegt, sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Haus ist mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet und lädt zum Entspannen ein. Um die Schlösser der Loire zu erkunden, bietet es sich geradezu an - Chambord, Chenonceau und viele weitere sind nicht weit entfernt. Yvette ist eine überaus freundliche und zuvorkommende Gastgeberin - wir waren sogar zu ihr nach Hause eingeladen und haben dort einen wundervollen Abend verbracht. Merci

Maison au calme

Endroit agréable, pratique pour les visites des châteaux et de la région. Maison propre et bien équipée. Petite remarque cependant sur la cabine de douche un peu étroite, et sur le fait que les réseaux téléphoniques ne passent quasiment pas. Un téléphone fixe est toutefois mis gratuitement à disposition .

Wunderbar ruhiger Ort! Blumengarten!

Wir haben die Tage genossen, bei herrlichem Wetter, Das Haus steht am Rande des kleinen Ortes, ruhig gelegen. Die Vermieterin ist unkompliziert freundlich und entgegenkommend. Wir wurden zu einem Treffen in ihrem Privathaus eingeladen. Ganz herzlichen Dank für alles!!

Relaxing all the way

At the top of a narrow cul de sac you forget that there are neighbours. There is a delightful garden, with sunny spots and shade for all times of day, which we were lucky enough with the weather to be able to use constantly. Downstairs kitchen, dining and living rooms are open with the loo, shower room and utilities beyond. Upstairs the bedrooms are end on, one acting as access to the other. Excellent boulangerie a short drive away, you can put the coffee on, go and be back without rushing. Lots of different walks right from the door, woods, fields, villages depending on your mood. Mme Ratton is a joy to deal with and despite our limited language overlap we got on wonderfully. Although there are so many things to see and do in the area it was also very enjoyable to do nothing but potter about. Loved it.

Le nom est très bien choisi

Nous avions le projet de visiter les châteaux en famille et cette maison est très bien placée pour cela. De plus, au bout d'une impasse, elle est très au calme, ce qui est idéal pour des citadins comme nous. Les enfants se sont bien amusés dans le jardin et nous avons pu profiter du barbecue. Bel accueil: nous avions pris l'option draps pour un lit et nous avons trouvé le lit fait à notre arrivée, merci pour cette attention Madame Ratton. Beaucoup de brochures dans la maison , ce qui est pratique pour préparer nos visites. Laurence

Charmante maison très bien située, équipée et très propre au milieu de la nature.

Nous avons passé un séjour très agréable dans cette maison avec nos trois enfants : située au fond d'une impasse, elle est extrêmement calme et silencieuse et nos petits garçons l'on un peu animée ! Environnement parfait et intérieur décoré avec goût, bien entretenu. Rien à redire sur la propreté, les équipements ainsi que la vaisselle : tout est impeccable. L'ensemble est entouré d'un jardin clôturé et arboré qui doit-être très agréable en été. En prenant le chemin qui passe derrière la propriété, on peut apercevoir les restes des tours ainsi que le donjon d'un chateau très ancien que nous ne connaissions pas : le chateau de Bury. La situation est idéale pour évidemment visiter les chateaux de la Loire : Blois et Chaumont ne sont qu'à 9 kilomètres. Mais aussi pour découvrir les bords de Loire qui sont magnifiques. La propriétaire, toute aussi sympathique est disponible et à l'écoute. Nous recommandons chaudement cette location et y reviendrons sûrement en été : Nous avons eu la chance d'avoir de la neige et nos enfants n'en avait jamais vu :-)

Rustica, accogliente e tranquilla

Casa in stile rustico spaziosa, silenziosa e molto caratteristica con un bel giardino immerso nel bosco; ideale per chi cerca pace e tranquillità' ma attenzione per le persone sopra 1.80 m che potrebbero avere problemi dati i soffitti bassi in alcuni punti Proprietari gentili e disponibili.

un véritable enchantement au coeur de la nature

Excellent!

We stayed there from 30 May to 4 June 2017 (three of us). We really loved it! The house is beautiful, with ideal location to explore the Loire valley, just a few kilometers from Blois. The garden, though small, is full of roses of all kinds and colors. The village is very small and quiet (we saw a deer grazing in a field just five minutes walk from the house), which is not a problem, as the whole Loire valley is right at the doorstep and even Paris is less than in two hours drive. In the house we found everything we needed for our stay. The owners were very kind and friendly, very attentive to all our needs. We'd definitely like to come there again. Thank you!

Super séjour à Chambon

Super WE de mai à Chambon !! Nous étions 6 Parisiens en quête d'un peu de vert et de repos : la maison d'Yvette est Le Havre de paix parfait ! Maison nickel, pas de souci, cuisine équipée, barbecue et tout le confort ! A 10 minutes en voiture de blois, une vraie coupure ! Nous recommandons cette sublime maison qui nous a accueilli 3 jours !

Ruhige Lage und durch die Fahrräder sehr schöner Urlaub - Herzlichen Dank

Die Vermieter waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Unterkunft war in der unteren Etage wie abgebildet, allerdings sind in der Küche die Balken etwas niedrig. Die Umgebung ist superschön und sehr ruhig .

séjour très agréable

Située dans un très joli petit village à deux pas de Blois, la maison est très agréable à vivre. Les jeux qui se trouvaient dans la maison ont bien occupé les enfants. De même, dans le jardin clos, la cabane en hauteur a fait la joie des enfants qui en ont fait leur repère. Maison très propre et propriétaires extrêmement sympathiques. Nous les remercions encore vivement pour tout! Attention cependant pour les personne de grande taille qui doivent être vigilantes aux poutres... mais les plafonds bas et les poutres font aussi le charme de la maison. Nous y reviendrons avec plaisir!

Authentique, confortable, l'environnement forestier est apaisant, dominant la vallée de la Cisse, dans un hameau qui respire le moyen âge. Vous serez séduits également par le jardin, on a pas envie de bouger.

Exceptionnel

Un home de paix, de sérénité, la maison est très bien équipée, très bien située, permet de belles promenades, de belles visites. Tout est à proximité, les visites de Chateaux, même les plus insolites, les caves, la gastronomie, et les grandes forêts, tout pour se ressourcer, commencer par le petit déjeuner dans le jardin le temps s'est arrêté. Je reviendrai avec plaisir.
