Jura Living

A very quiet, cosy property that is ideal for a relaxed and peaceful area of France that is like no other. Many pleasant rural walks, and unspoilt small towns where the Jura identity shines through. Warm autumn weather gave us plenty of opportunity for walking, watching the raptors, relaxing, several BBQs ... and regular visits the extremely friendly dog. A good appetite is essential ..... Local produce, Morteau sausage, Cheeses from the region and the almost exclusive presence of Jura wines make meals eaten at home or in restaurants a truly Jura pleasure. We felt very relaxed ... and departed a little heavier than when we arrived! David and Leigh

A Bit of Heaven

We cannot say enough good things about this rental. It is a beautiful property in a wonderful location and host. I am an older (78) but enthusiastic cyclist and the Jura region is the best biking I have ever found. The terrain is perfect. The riding offers all of the variety I could want, from near flat to gentle hills to challenging climbs far beyond my ability. The bike routes are numbered and well marked, plus there are hundreds of miles of small departmental and tiny agricultural roads, as well as endless gravel and hiking tracks to explore. It is the most beautiful country we have found in France. We have visited Provence, Burgundy, and Dordogne, but the Jura outshines them all, IMHO. One could not hope for a kinder or friendlier host. Dinan (Dino), a very interesting man, and his wife live on the property. He is always available to take care of any issues and does so promptly. We enjoyed his company over a glass of wine on several occasions. The isolated, quiet property in the tiny village of Villerserine (population 35) is only 20 minutes from the small, charming, historic city of Poligny and 10 minutes from a supermarket. The Jura region produces top quality wines and the famous Comté cheese. The historic cities of Beaune and Besançon, plus the whole Burgundy-Franche-Comté region, are less than two hours drive. Outstanding!

The location makes it very easy to see all the main sights and at the same time the gite is an oasis of peace and tranquillity. Everything you could possibly need is available in the gite, the beds are really comfy and the outside terrace is lovely for sitting and relaxing.

Charming !

Les Tulipes was the perfect country get away. Beautiful 300 year old barn converted into a lovley cottage with all the modern conveniences. A very private and serene farm location yet a very short drive to town for groceries, bakery and restaurants. both bedrooms are upstairsand are spacious with comfortable beds and ensuite bathrooms. The host gave us a complete tour of the property and then gave us full privacy yet was available if we had any needs. A great stay in Jura!

Perfect house for exploring the Jura

We greatly enjoyed our stay at Les Tulipes. The home was very comfortable, with a well equipped kitchen, nice bathrooms and bedrooms. The outdoor space was great for drinks and we slept great thanks to the quiet country location. The village is a great base for easy drives to some amazing natural sites as well as to two lovely towns, Poligny and Arbois both with good restaurants. There is a great supermarket a few minutes down the road. The owner was there to greet us, show us how everything in the home worked, and provide suggestions for things to do and see. Then the place was our own home away from home for our time there. A great stay in a beautiful and less crowded part of France.

Sehr freundlicher, hilfsbereiter Vermieter aus den Niederlanden, der sehr gut Deutsch spricht. Die Ferienwohnung ist gemütlich, die Küche gut ausgestattet und alles funktioniert einwandfrei. Sehr bequeme Betten mit guten Matratzen!!Die Lage ist sehr ruhig in einem kleinen Dorf ohne Verkehrslärm, ideal zum Abschalten. Supermärkte sind gut erreichbar in der Nähe.Die Umgebung ist sehr schön und bestens zum E‑Bike-Fahren geeignet, mit vielen kleinen, wenig befahrenen Straßen und lohnenden Ausflugszielen. Wir waren Anfang Januar und hatten viel Sonne. Auch wenn es kühl war, konnte man wunderbar Rad fahren.Vielen Dank an den Vermieter für den tollen Aufenthalt – wir kommen gerne wieder!

Das Haus ist liebevoll renoviert, tolle Atmosphäre. Die Zimmer jeweils mit Bad, deshalb auch für zwei Paare o.ä. gut geeignet. Die Küche ist gut ausgestattet. Dinand ist als Gastgeber sehr angenehm, zurückhaltend, aber sehr hilfsbereit. Der Ort ist als Ausgangspunkt für Exkursionen optimal, gleichzeitig kann man dort gut längere Stecken laufen.Wir (4 Personen) waren rundum zufrieden. Lohnenswert sind Ausflüge nach Arbois (der Supermarkt dort ist besser als der in Poligny) oder nach Dole. Wer es noch nicht kennt: Besancon. Und je nach Wetter der Jura. Dort kann man auch noch gut und preisgünstig essen.

Mooi huisje met enorme tuin

We waren in februari in Villerserine en we hebben een heerlijke week gehad in dit huisje met natuurstenen muren en dikke houten balken. Alles was aanwezig. Voor ons de grote plus: de enorme tuin. Vanaf het bed kijk je zo op die tuin, heerlijk wakker worden dus.We hebben lange fietstochten gemaakt in de afwisselde delen van de Jura. Over het heuvelige platteland, langs dorpjes en door wijnvelden; langs het kanaal en rivier de Doubs; over de Voie Verte vanaf Lons door tunnels en over ijzeren viaducten; naar verschillende watervallen, bronnen en kloven in het hoge deel van de Jura. We hebben elektrische fietsen en hadden al dat moois niet kunnen zien op een gewone fiets. Vanwege de afstanden, maar ook omdat sommige weggetjes stenig zijn. De eigenaar is heel vriendelijk en respecteert privacy, maar is toch gemakkelijk te bereiken als dat nodig is. In de schuur is bijvoorbeeld geen stopcontact (tip voor eigenaar), maar we mochten een verlengsnoer lenen om de fietsen op te kunnen laden via het keukenraampje. We komen graag nog een keer terug!

Très bon séjour dans ce gîte

Séjour parfait, le gîte est à 30 minutes de pas mal de lieux à visiter. Le gîte était idéal pour nous. Très propre, très confortable, très bien équipé et très bien décoré. La cuisine a tout le nécessaire, séjour avec tv, livres, jeux, porte-fenêtre avec vue vers le grand jardin. Les 2 grandes chambres ont une excellente literie, des draps de qualité, avec sdb privative et baignoire pour chacune. Depuis les chambres la vue par la fenêtre est dégagée. C'est calme, c'est beau. Le propriétaire est charmant, disponible et bienveillant. Note 10/10.
