Super 8 by Wyndham Clarinda

2/10 Terrible

"When booking it does not state they charge $25 a day non refundable pet deposite. Even there pet policy posted on counter does not state its a DAILY fee. We where staying for 2 days so should of been $50 but was charged for 3 days so got charged $75. Was suppossed to be refunded but has not been. The rooms where very dirty. Looked like old pet poop on floor that was just picked up but never cleaned. Sheets and blankets where gross unwashed. When told staff she just threw new sheets at me for me to change the bed. Im renting a room I shouldnt have to be the one to clean and make beds to be able to sleep there. Worst hotel I have ever stayed."

Comfort Inn Express Shenandoah

4/10 Poor

"This place is/was a Super 8. The only thing designating it as a "Comfort Inn Express" is a banner hung on the wall that is falling off. This is a small town hotel, so with that expectation...the staff didn't speak well enough to be understood easily. When we got to the room the temperature was 60 degrees, which was a little cold. Sadly the air conditioner was missing the button that allowed you to adjust the temperature. No problem, we will use the duvet cover since there was just a single sheet on the bed. The duvet cover was riddled with stains so we didnt use that. There was a blanket available and we made use of that. We could have requested a different room but our experience so far told us it was unlikely to make a difference. One other note, when we checked in they gave us a bill copy for the room that said $65, but Hotels.com charged us $80. So you might save even more money by booking directly...just know it is a low grade motel."

Cobblestone Inn & Suites - Clarinda

"Breakfast was to be served until 10 am, but all the hot food was gone by 9:30. No one was available to ask about the food. Our room key quit working on the day we were to check out. We went to breakfast and couldn't get back into our room. I had to go back to the desk twice and it still didn't work and they had to use their key to let us in the room."
