Excellent location, great amenities, especially the onsen baths. Friendly staff and good service. The only downside: the room had a stale smell. Overall would book again.
good hotel with night snack ramen, onsen, free ice cream, free yugart :-) of course you paid upfront for all these fancy things!
very good experience staying there. just be aware that even though there are many restaurants around there, they're all small mom and pop type, atat night they're all full if you get out late (7pm is late)!!
It’s a very normal hotel and room. Nothing special. It’s more like a business hotel than a luxury hotel.
It was very clean, the staff was great, and it was in a good location. The price was reasonable.
We would stay here again. Breakfast was not included
Clean room, helpful staff. The late night supper was great! The Room was clean, However the provided slipper can be cleaned better before the next use.
The room was clean and newly renovated. The 1 bed (double size) room had a larger space to move around and walk and also back. Its also relatively newly renovated compared to the 2 single bed room. They had late night ramen which was free and filling! Hot spring was good too!
Overall we really loved our stay at Wakkanai. our highlight of the stay was the laid back feel of the Onsen providing views of russia and the soya straight
We had an unplanned one night stay in Wakkanai due to a storm... the Dormy Inn was ideal. Great onsen and very helpful staff. We would stay again... highly recommend.
The hotel is very near JR Wakkanai Station so this makes it very convenient to go Cape Soya and Cape Noshappu and eating places. The best thing about this hotel is the seafood bowl breakfast and the onsen with an open air one available. Would stay here again if ever I visit Wakkanai
The hotel is showing a little wear around the edges, but the view from the public baths on the roof can't be beat. Also very close to the train station and next to a great soup curry place! Would stay there if I ever make the long trip to Wakkanai again. :)
What a highlight of our trip to be at the Top of Japan and greeted by Snow in early April. Hotel was an easy walk from the train station and offered a map with a variety of restaurants with hours of operation listed too. Breakfast was scheduled earlier due to the train schedule which was most helpful. Thank you Dormy Inn for your hospitality.
Lovely and comfortable stay - breakfast was worth the extra fee, boasting a bountiful buffet of fresh sashimi, delicious side dishes, comforting soups and freshly-cooked rice in addition to other usual fare like bread, yoghurt and fruits. Rooms were on the small side, but perfectly serviceable. The public baths are fantastic, and there are 3 washers + 3 dryers per gender in the public bath area. There’s also free ice cream and yoghurt drinks for after your bath, be it morning/night!
Location is just a short walk away from the JR station/bus terminal, and throwing distance from 3 car rental agencies. It’s a 15-minute walk from the ferry terminal, but in the early AM (when the first ferry leaves), it’s a nice walk in summer.
Love the Dormy Inn series, would always come back!
This is a great place to stay if you are visiting Wakkanai -- close to the nearby transportation stations and walking distance to the local seafood market. The breakfast buffet is particularly notable -- really delicious and well-executed!!!
