Great Adult Retreat
House is very nice and has great views. I personally enjoyed the dirt road to the house because it gave my truck some dirt road action but honestly any compact or sedan can handle it. The best part was the cleanliness and all couples had their own bathroom.

Thanksgiving week
Our extended family of 10 stayed 5 nights in this beautiful home. Yes it’s at the end of a very narrow bumpy road but those views were worth it. The home is spacious and was equipped with most everything we needed. There were a few issues- one of the bathrooms had not been cleaned and the sink was covered in whiskers when we arrived. Both fridges had several opened food and drink items that should have been thrown out before our arrival. The shower drain in the lower level shower took forever to drain. We were standing in ankle deep water. I emailed the point of contact which was the cleaning service. Donna was quick to reply and offer to come help or offered a credit on the cleaning, which we chose. Hopefully the cleaning fee will be credited to my account. We spent 4 days relaxing, playing games enjoying Thanksgiving together. The fire pit was great . We used it 2 nights.

Beautiful but with several challenges!
Very nice views from the property, but the "one car fits" gravel road upward was a challenge especially in the dark. I got used to it but a few females in it group never did with eyes closed or frequent shrieks as our vehicle carefully navigated over the rocks and holes on a road that needs plenty of work. You'll find that the 3 floors are 3 very different temperatures. The upstairs never cooled off and maybe that's normal during a humid and hot July, but it was very uncomfortable for those sleeping up there. AC had issues the first night we were there. We noticed that the utility room floor in the basement was flooded due to AC malfunction and about to flood the basement. My brother ended up doing most of the clean up work while I was on the phone with property manager and parent company when the property manager wouldn't answer. The communication lasted well into the next day which didn't allow us to fully enjoy the day's activities, not knowing when someone would come back and fix the issue. Kudos to the fix it guy who did make two trips out to prevent the AC unit from acting like a geyser everytime it cycled. No more flooding but we were without AC for a night. We had a nice time with family but it was interrupted way too long trying to deal with this issue. I asked for a very small refund ($300) for the major inconvenience but we were told the owner refused. Very disappointing especially when we saved them from a potential huge expense/repairs of a flooded basement.

The property was beautiful and the view was breathtaking. Overall, the stay was pleasant. There were some issues however… The cleanliness of the property was questionable. At first glance, things looked clean but upon further investigation, there was dirt/dust noted under tables, in corners, and nooks and crannies. There was also a pile of clothes left on the toilet in one of the bathrooms and dirty towels/wash clothes found in the hamper in the main bathroom. As much as renters are being charged for the cleaning of the property, there is no reason these things should have been overlooked. One would think the cleaning done by the previous renters is the only cleaning that was done. There were also several snake skins beside the garage door that was a bit disturbing.

Bachelorette Weekend
My fiance and I wanted a low key, joint bachelor and bachelorette weekend getaway in Asheville. This place was so much more than we ever expected. We were so sad to leave and are already trying to plan another stay after the wedding. This was by far the best thing we could've done!

Excellent home and location for mountain getaway
We rented the home for our family. 7 adults and one 7 mo old. The home is perfect for a group like ours with great bedrooms, comfortable beds and lots of bathrooms. The views are gorgeous and the pool table was a great way to spend time together. I have to add that getting to this beautiful place is super easy. Some reviews commented about the difficulty of the dirt road. It is really not an issue. Don't let that stop you from enjoying a perfect vacation home yet close to Waynesville and Lake Junaleska. We would definitely stay again. Good hiking nearby and some fun trails near the home plus the cool clinging rope.

Dinginess upon arrival: Upon arrival we noticed that the cabin seemed sort of “dingy.” Like it was cleaned a month ago and then left for us to arrive. There seemed to be a fine coat of dust on the counters, tables etc. Beautiful View: Of course our eyes were quickly drawn to the fantastic view of the Great Smoky Mountains out the front window. We could never get enough of that view. Busted TV: As we got a little more settled we noticed that the TV screen in the downstairs was smashed where only one side was working. The manager was aware of this when we mentioned it as they said, “yeah someone smashed it with a pool stick.” Once they realized we had just arrived they were out the next day to replace it. Several Light Bulbs burnt out: They had to replace several burnt out light bulbs throughout the house. Which should have been done before arrival. Some of the fixtures were not reachable from the floor so we took a pass on getting them replaced. Shower Head in the upper shower did not work: The shower head in the upstairs shower did not work initially. Of course within the 2 or 3 trips they were able to get it repaired by Monday of our stay. The snakes are still there: There seems to be conflicting stories about the presence of snakes and if they were poisonous or not. First they are still there right beside the garage. Second, as far as the ones I saw, they were not poisonous. They are not something to play with! Poor WIFI: When the advertisement offers WIFI one would expect that it would be high speed internet that you would be able to conduct business throughout the week as necessary. NOT so here. We had a limited amount of high speed internet and by Wednesday morning we received a notice that we had exceeded our high speed service. Basically by the last half of the week we had to take turns on WIFI to check Instagram or Facebook let alone run a movie or show. Gas escaping from the oven: We could smell gas when using the oven. It wasn’t strong and it didn’t start until late in the week. Dishwasher: If the dishwasher was loaded with the big plates on top the dishwasher would tend to topple out of the cabinet. We mentioned this to the maintenance man and he remarked, “I thought I’d fixed that.” My opinion the place needs a good work over before the next occupants go in.

Perfect for our BIG family
This place was absolutely amazing!!!! We stayed for a week with 8 adults, 8 kids and an infant. We had plenty of room for all of us. The property manager was very friendly and responsive. It was perfect for the kind of vacation we love, which is stay at the house and enjoy being together. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking all of our meals there. We could have used more forks. The gas grill is fantastic. We had an adequate supply of dish soap and laundry soap and dishwasher pellets. The drive up is treacherous. My Buick Envision got stuck with tires spinning but I backed up a little and tried closer to the opposite side of the road where there was less loose gravel. It did make me decide that I wasn’t going to leave until the end of the week when it was time to check out. The other vehicles were 2 minivans and a small Jeep Compass with 4 wheel drive. All of us were happy to have that vehicle to send someone for more supplies. The view was incredible!!!! We had a fire the last night we were there. I wish we would have discovered the climbing rope earlier in the week. It was really fun for the older children. My only suggestion is that the lower level bathroom should have one of the queen beds so that the nice bathroom down there could be used by adults, then make one of the top level bedrooms for children. To share the upstairs bathroom. Be aware that there are HARMLESS snakes living in the railroad tie retention wall on the left side of the driveway. Our kids enjoyed watching them and they keep mice and other damaging rodents away.

Beautiful house with amazing views.
This house was perfect for a family of 14 (ages 7-70). The kids and some adults loved the rope wall on the property. We had a great time making s’mores both in doors and outside. There is so much to do in the area within an hours drive of the property. The drive up the mountain was interesting and really enhanced our trip because we felt like we were in the mountains. We went up and down the mountain so many times it became normal to us. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable. I would recommend this property. The absolute best thing about this house is the amazing views and truly being up on the mountain. Thanks for a great vacation!

The place was dirty. I had to clean the tubs before using them. From a house cleaners stans point, it was not cleaned and sanitized to standard. It was not communicated the ridiculous driveway only that it was on a gravel road. The dump that you are required to take trash to has very limited hours and in the guest binder, there is no schedule of hours listed. The plumbing was fine for our visit. There was opened food left in the pantry and dead bugs everywhere. The view is amazing tho and the secluded part was nice. The house does not have a yard so the only entertainment on the property was a pool table. The wifi hotspot ran out on our second day there. We had to use ours. Im glad we booked during off season because i wouldnt pay what its going for now. Check out you have to strip the beds, wash the towels, take out the trash to the dump which is a 10 min drive down the steep driveway if its open, was and unload dishes. Idk why there is a cleaning fee when it was not clean when we got there and we had to do so much when checking out. For property owner, i can submit photos to you of how the house was when we got there.

Beautiful views. Ample room for kids and adults. We didn’t get check-in email until day of. Code on door to get in didn’t work. Kids saw a mouse in garage first day. Driveway up to cabin very dangerous even under perfect weather. Didn’t realize that on top of the generous cleaning fee we had to take the trash in our cars with us to the dump. There was a note on the fridge that stated to either take the trash with us or pay an additional $50. So we opted to pay the $50 only to get a nasty text from property owner. Mind you it was 4 bags and some cardboard nothing crazy. Once we had our cars packed we really didn’t have room to take garbage with us so we opted to pay the extra $50. Best part was the view but overall not a place I would ever consider to stay again.

The house was lovely with a breathtaking view of the Smokey mountains. The road up is a little scary but that’s probably to be expected with a house on top of the mountains. Would definitely stay recommend this house to others.

Not very pleasant vacation
Let me start with the positive, the house is pretty, althought there's a couple of thing that needs updating but is well located, with plenty of room and space to gather family and friends. But the house was dirty specially in the basement, which is the play area and has a room that was also dirty, the sheet had to be washed before use because they smelled. Now the main thing you have to know is make sure you bring a BIG truck so you can take the trash with you because they don't pick it up and said they will charge you extra for that, which to me it is not right specially if it is not described on the website, you find out that's their rule once you are up there. Trash had to be taken out on Saturday to a place that was 10min away and was not open Sunday. When we got to the house their was trash from previous renters in the garage. The garage is super dirty and full of rat feces everywhere and its smells like urine.

Several issues completely blown away by owner’s response
Do not be misled. The road leading to the house is a very steep, one lane road shared by multiple homes and there are few opportunities to pass other vehicles. When we arrived the door code didn’t work and the contact told me that this is an ongoing problem. We selected this home based on previous positive reviews and specifically we wanted a pool table for the family to enjoy. The pool table need refinishing, is not level and the ques were missing tips. The dishwasher quit working and the plumbing in one of the bathrooms was backed up. I learned that the plumbing has been an ongoing problem ignored by the owner. His answer to the dishwasher issue was that at least we had running hot water. Problems are bound to occur in any situation. What matters most is the response of the management/owner. I was very disappointed with his response.

Exceptional view
The path up the mountain I found treacherous compared to what I'm used to driving. Even though it doesn't say you need 4 wheel drive except in the winter - I would recommend it any way. I must say after riding up to the top of the Zip lining in a van did put this driveway in a whole new prospective though. I had more heart attacks riding to the top for zip lining than I did zip lining. This property was the cleanest I've every stayed out, comfortable and the view was unbelievable. My granddaughter said it best "Nana - this is where God lives".

This mountain house is beautiful with an incredible view. The drive up to the house is fun and really excites you as you get closer and closer. Waynesville is a great little town. Jason, the owner, was incredibly helpful after we encountered a slight problem checking in, but everything was resolved immediately. We will likely go visit again in the future.

This home was perfect for our family of 15. The view is absolutely gorgeous. The house was meticulous and tastefully decorated. We made almost all of our meals in the well equipped kitchen. Our grown kids loved the fire pit and all the kids loved the rope climb. The only detractor is the ruts in the road to drive up to the house. Fortunately we all have four wheel drive vehicles. The photos of this lovely home are completely accurate. You will not be disappointed. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Top of a steep hill--gorgeous views
This pristinely beautiful spot is perched at the top of an impossibly steep driveway at the end of a one-lane dirt mountain road. We loved the remote location and the stunning beauty of the mountains. The bedrooms were large, immaculately clean and comfortable. The sheets were on the beds when we arrived and they were very comfortable. The kitchen was moderately well appointed--it lacked large platters or large serving bowls to serve a large crowd. It also does not have 16 plates, so add a package of paper plates when you pack if you're hosting a crowd. The wi-fi is marginal and spotty--not a surprise given the remote location of the house. Even the kids could not figure out how to get the televisions to work, but who cared with the fireplace, the gorgeous porches, and the social living room? The master bedroom has a huge jacuzzi tub. The basement is chilly, but great for pool, banging around, reading and getting some space. There is a rope on the slope for climbing the steep hill. The kids loved that and found some great trees to climb. This house could be unreachable in the snow or super heavy rain since the approach to it is a narrow dirt road. The driveway itself is at a 30 degree grade. But once you make it to the top, there is a big 2-car garage and ample parking. The fireplace works great and throws some terrific heat. Laundry machines are new and work great.

Home is very nice
Upon arrival as we entered home and cleaners leaving front door was open. We noticed a smoking smell, as one reason we rented was supposed to be smoke free. I called Cathy and she said it smelled like something burned on stove. We later found cigar cutter on fireplace mantle. Grill was greasy filthy and cover on floor. Next day when leaving code on front door was not as it was supposed to be and I called Cathy again and she gave me a different code. The garbage dump is supposed to be closed only on Sundays. When leaving on final day with 4 bags of garbage when arriving at dump we find out it is closed thurs. thru sun. We had to take garbage home with us. Home was very nice otherwise except for problems described. Loved the area.

The views from the house were stunning and there was plenty of room for our group of eight adults. The house was in perfect order when we arrived and we tried to leave it that way. Be prepared for the last mile and a half of gravel road. The house is on a mountain, so the roads and drive are steep. It would be a good idea to do your shopping before you arrive because there’s no running out to the corner store!

Beautiful home with great view!
Home was secluded with lots of privacy that we were seeking. The house was beautifully furnished and the outside areas were a great place for relaxing. The children enjoyed the rope climb on the hill, the pool table, and the hammock. We were in a great location close to the Cataloochee Valley and also about 25 minutes to Waynesville. The road to the house is capable of being driven by a car. However while we were there the multiple rain storms made it where the car would have had difficulty getting to the house. We also had 3 SUV's with AWD/4×4 and had no issues at any time of day. Overall, the house was perfect for the extended family of 16 getaway that we were hoping for!!

Gorgeous views!
House was great! We had 3 families and it was the perfect combination of roomy while still cozy. The views from the deck are breathtaking! The email we received from vrbo said 4wd wasn’t necessary (and it wasn’t for us in Nov), but we all agreed it’d be necessary in the snow. The only complaint we had was that we were responsible for garbage removal. We suggested they hire someone to do that. It’s not far to bring it, but was just inconvenient to pack our car with garbage and then come back to the house to pack our luggage. Overall it was a great and relaxing getaway. Would definitely recommend!
