Great place to stay, very unique and we love the back in time vibe
Very clean and staff are very friendly
Wonderful town to spend the weekend in,although most of the stores are closed on Sunday which we respected being a church town.

Check in was easy and front desk(& other staff we encountered were friendly and helpful)
We took the room with the sitting area included. All in tip top shape.
This was such a great place to stay for our visit to the PA Grand Canyon. The hotel was very cool, the staff super friendly, nice breakfast included in the am. Wonderful dinner in the tavern inside. Parking right out back and everything in town you could walk to. I would return here in a heartbeat next time I come to Wellsboro!
Hotel is very quaint. Great fireplace in lobby, restaurant food was excellent. Special shout-out to Dave Cox at front desk. He is so friendly, helpful, busy and does it all!
Parking was easy here, no problem. The rooms were nice and clean, beds comfortable. Staff was helpful when we had questions. We like staying in old, historic hotels because they are so much more interesting than the cookie- cutter newer ones.
The hotel is located right on the main strip. Plenty of places to eat and shop. Sister hotel has a pool to use. The staff is very nice and room was clean.

This is a charming slice of history that is run by dedicated staff wo want your stay to be spoecial and comfortable. If you are used to spanking new hotels you will find some of the features quaint (instructions on how to operate a radiator valve on checking in) but the beds are comfortable and clean and the showers are great and hold a steady temperature. The various dining options should suit your mood - and if not, there are plenty of other options right outside the door.
This is a fantastic historical hotel. The charm of the old building, decor, and aesthetics was delightful. Everything was easy and there are some great staff members. Check in was AMAZING !!!!!! Dave was the nicest, professional, caring individual. It is rare to see genuine, natural, excellent customer service with an owners mindset.

Excellent friendly service but the property is very old. While very charming and very authentic as keys are still used, it is very dated. I felt very safe but it also had that “ shining here’s Johnny” vibe. The bed in room 231 is very comfortable I was very pleased with my stay
Right in the center of town.
It’s old build with small rooms but if you came to visit wellsboro then this old building is right up your alley!
Clean and nice staff
Located in downtown wellsboro within walking distance to shoppes and restaurants, this hotel is a throwback in a good way. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The lobby and rooms were clean and functional with modern amenities, but had the feel of another era, giving me a taste of what life might have been like in another time. Breakfast was good also, my kids loved the chocolate raspberry muffins.
If you don't like cookie cutter mega chain hotels, this is a beautiful place to stay. Comfortable room. Historical hotel in a great area. Real room keys. Not a magnetic card. Nice lounge. Good breakfast buffet. The worst thing I could say is there are some cracks in the bathroom tiles. Doesn't affect the overall feeling of the place. Adds character.
Great location, easy walking accessibility to the main attractions in the town. Overall this is an old property (Hotel) which offers a laid back atmosphere.
This was the Historic Penn-Wells hotel. It was like stepping beck in time. Dave, who was behind the counter when we arrived early evening, could not have been any nicer and accommodating. Very helpful in giving directions to the PA Grand Canyon. Their continental breakfast was very good, and lots of it. The theme in this hotel was based around its' history, and even the soft music that played while we were eating, was definitely from the early 1900's and carried on the theme. It was very enjoyable. I would recommend this experience to anyone.
