Tolles Ambiente in der Burg Wernberg. Altes Gemäuer, alles stilvoll restauriert. Toller Service. Im Grünen, für die Einen perfekt, für Andere zu weit draussen. Ich kann das Haus nur empfehlen.

Ruhig,historisch- aber nicht günstig!

schöne Umgebung,ruhig- Preis/Leistung gerade noch ok,Betten sehr gut, Grösse/Austattung des Badzimmers entspricht eher einer Pension Es gibt auch mittlerweile Fernseher die grösser als 20 Zoll sind ....:-)

Perfektes Team in perfektem Ambiente

Winterlandschaft und ein romantisches Burg-Ambiente! Besonders hervorzuheben ist das Personal. Spürbar ist jeder mit dem Herzen dabei und Service ist kein Lippenbekenntnis, sondern eine positive, sehr positive Grundeinstellung zum Gast. Obwohl wir nur eine Kleinigkeit gegessen haben, war es kulinarischer Hochgenuss.

Good, but not perfect

The hotel is an actual refurbished castle owned by the local town, and is small enough that the staff know who you are even before you check in. It has has a lot of charming nooks an crannies that you would never find in a regular hotel. It also has a library, chapel and even a well. The sauna in the underground catacomb is my favorite. Having said all of that, it's not exactly perfect. Room is comfortable with a complementary minibar (beer, water and juice), but has an odd window into the bathroom that is awkward for families. Restaurant has great food, but at steep prices. A bottle of water with dinner was 10 Euros. Staff was welcoming and responsive, but not overly friendly. A small bag of laundry was 70 Euros. Wifi was fast and reliable. There is no air conditioning, so we left the windows open at night. There is a farm nearby with cows that mooed loudly enough to wake us up, so had to close the windows. A restaurant down the hill is great, and has better prices than the hotel restaurant.

Beautiful hotel in a quiet part of Germany

From the moment I made my reservation the Hotel Burg Wernberg did more than I've ever experienced with a hotel to ensure that my stay would be perfect. What made the biggest impression on me was the short questionnaire they sent via e-mail to allow me to make reservations at their wonderful restaurants and to allow me to identify any allergies or other health issues they should be aware of. As someone who has both diabetes and celiac I appreciated this opportunity. I arrived at the hotel with every expectation that I would have to remind the wait staff of my illnesses. What I experienced was the complete opposite. My first night there, I had dinner at Kastell Gourmet Restaurant. When I was seated, they asked my room number and was immediately given a gluten free menu without me saying a word. My meal was phenomenal and I didn't for a minute feel like I was having less of a dining experience because of my illnesses. The experience was true the next morning at breakfast and any other meal I had at the hotel while on this trip. My room was very comfortable and well maintained. Having lived in Germany for a few years, it was nice to find such a wonderful hotel off of the typical tourist routes but still located close enough to the autoban to be able to travel around Bavaria with ease.
