Fantastic getaway

The Mill & Waterfall was amazing! Highly recommend!Could’ve spent the whole time on the deck! Location was great for exploring in and around the creek. Short drives to Mount Airy and Hanging Rock.Place was outstanding, as was the communication with the hosts. Will definitely consider a return trip!

Great spot for a relaxing getaway.

I was looking for somewhere to just relax and unwind for my birthday and this place was perfect. I enjoyed taking in the view and sounds of the waterfall on the back deck, walking the property for different views, and having a soak in the hot tub. Clean place, comfortable bed, owner provides good info about the area and responds quickly.

Hidden gem!!!!

We absolutely loved our stay here!! The waterfall was amazing! The view is incredible! We love old homes so this was right up our alley. They have done an amazing job with it so far and can't wait to visit again in the winter months!!! Definitely adding this spot to one of our routine locations!

Enchanting Home Away From Home

The home is so inviting, comfy and full of history. The water is mesmerizing and tranquil. The area is surrounded by majestic mountains, walking trails that lead to serene waterfalls and an abundance of wildlife. It is like stepping into a little piece of heaven!

Unique Rental

A unique, historical, relaxing, fun place to stay. Amazing deck!!! Convenient to Hanging Rock, Pilot Mountain and Mt.Airy. Comfy bed and well stocked kitchen. Heat worked very fast on our cold morning! Great communication with the owner!! We only wished we had known how close it was to the Taproom! Thanks

The Mill

We have been to some fabulous places in our travels and this one is definitely in the top five. Never been more relaxed, the hot tub was the best, this property is just perfect. The waterfall was mesmerizing and lulled us to sleep every night. Can't believe we had our own waterfall! Will absolutely drive the 7 hours just to stay here again.

Great getaway!

Such a great house in a cool area. We went for a long weekend and spent the first afternoon at a vineyard nearby which was surprisingly great. Then a full day hiking through Hanging Rock State Park before having a beer at a nearby brewery and a nice dinner nearby. The house itself is beautiful and clean and full of character! We had packed our time but got a little bit to sit on the deck and enjoy the waterfalls. Hope to come back!

Just us girls

My Mom and I were on the last leg of our girls trip and heading back to Virginia from Myrtle Beach and we wanted our last night to be unique and memorable - not another hotel stay! We couldnt have asked for more!! The renovated Mill was so beautiful and the river views were exactly what we needed! We enjoyed our morning coffee in the hot tub and then took a walk around the property before heading home. I would definitely go back and highly recommend this property.

A Great Experience

Our family enjoyed our stay at this unique property. It was one of the best rental experiences we've had. Check-in and check-out processes were simple, and the owner provided a lot of clear and helpful information about the property and the area. The beds were comfortable, and the waterfall and river are beautiful. Our whole family enjoyed exploring the property during our stay. We also hiked at Pilot Mountain and Hanging Rock State Parks. It is a remote area, but we were prepared for that, as well as details the owner and other reviewers mentioned (first floor bathroom, steep staircase). We would definitely stay here again.

Unique and centrally located

I stayed here with some friends to get away and do some hiking. This is a very special home. I've never stayed anywhere like it. History permeates the property and house itself. Yet you have all the modern amenities you could need. The sound of the waterfall is with you inside or outside and creates a very peaceful environment. The bunk beds are not in the bedroom as the posting indicates. This didn't affect us but for anyone reading this it might be helpful to know they're located outside the two bedrooms upstairs. The house is centrally located near Mt. Airy, Pilot Mountain, and Hanging Rock so there are a lot of places to explore and especially great for people who enjoy the outdoors (fishing, kayaking the Dan, hiking to great views among the Sauratown Mountains. Highly recommended!

Peaceful

This is a peaceful place to stay! The porch by the waterfall was a great place to land after a long hike! The waterfall can be heard in the house which was wonderful for us. The single bathroom required planning with four of us staying, but we knew that going in. The inside furniture was minimalistic and the couch was worn. We didn’t mind much since we spent most of our time outside. Cell service around the house is minimal so communication with group members should be done prior to departing. The house is hard to see but the host did great with the description to get us there. Check in and out was easy and the beds were comfortable enough for us! The property is beautiful along the creek!

We had an amazing stay, and they went above and beyond to make sure all of our needs were met!! From watching the blue heron in the waterfall every morning on the patio, to swimming in the waterfall, to relaxing in the hot tub and enjoying nature, this place was amazing! We got engaged during our trip and this was the perfect place to stay!

Really neat property with plenty of room. Thought the single bathroom could be an issue but worked out fine for my family of 6. Close to great spots for hiking...and Luna's Mexican restaurant just up the street was awesome. Plenty of other local restaurants just down the road in Mt Airy.
