Lilac Cottage
Overall, the property was warm and comfortable and in terms of its location it was exactly what I was looking for. The bedroom I used was spacious, clean and had plenty of storage space, same with the bathroom. I felt the decor in the main downstairs sitting room looked tired and the covers on the sofa were quite grubby.
However,,my main concerns are as follows. There is a lack of adequate lighting on the path. The light at the gate only comes on when you actually reach the gate. There are four steps before this and they are very difficult to see in the dark. During my stay there were several spells of heavy rain and I noticed that the annexe/games room had several leaks in the roof. Finally, when I went out the back to use the bins, I found both full to overflowing,so it looks as if they haven't been emptied for some time.
While I was generally satisfied with my stay and would book the property again, I felt I should draw these matters to your attention.
