Overall, the house met my expectations and it was a real pleasure to deal with the owner.
The layout of the house is very well done, with a large living room / dining room in the front and a family room / kitchen in the back with large sliding doors looking onto the lake. The three bedrooms are off the hallway to the side of the house.
We had coffee each morning on the dock and while we didn't use it, there was a bbq grill on the back porch with a built-in picnic table. The yard is decent size and would be enough for small children to play (but not left alone as it is on the lake).
The kitchen was fully stocked with all the utensils / plates / pans you need to prepare meals. Some of the appliance are older (oven, range) but everything worked as it should. Laundry washer dryer worked as well.
Everything was clean and ready for our arrival. The only hiccup occurred on the second day of our stay, when the flat screen tv in the living room stopped turning on. Normally, this would not matter so much to me, but we were there over Super Bowl weekend and had made plans to watch the game at the house. Steve, the owner, was quite responsive, and when it was determined that the TV was faulty, he immediately ordered a new (even larger) TV that I picked up the next day and installed in time for the big game.
Throughout our stay, Steve was available by phone and email. While we had no real issues to speak of, I was quite confident in his availability and willingness to make sure our stay was comfortable.
As far as location, I have family in the area and it was for this reason I looked here in the first place. It is a residential neighborhood and quite calm.
You need a car here, there are foodstores / fast food nearby within 5 minutes but you can't walk there. Steve posted accurately in the advert the distances from nearby attractions (Disney/Legoland etc).
All in all I would recommend this house to anyone who needs more space than a hotel can provide and would like to stay in this area.
