The thermostat in the room wasn’t functional and the room stayed at 30°c all night, making sleep almost impossible. The rooms shown in pictures while booking don’t get close to matching in person, there was bare plywood covering a window that must be broken, the tub components were coming off of the wall, and the room was far smaller than shown. Staff were friendly. But the whole building also stank

Disliked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
There were long black hairs left on every surface in the washroom. Obvious lack of attention to detail with the cleaning staff. Parking arrangements are less than ideal, not to mention inconvenient.
The location was great. We went to the Still Dark Festival, and it was under 3 minutes to all 5 venues. The room was old, but suited our needs. I really miss pre covid when housekeeping would straighten up every few days. We asked for new towels around day 5. The staff was nice, and there was security. Ricky's, and a few other stores and places to eat could be accessed through the hotel doors, so no outside jackets required. Warning: Room 341 was the most noisy hotel room in which I have ever stayed. It was a combination of the refrigerator, maybe water pipes, maybe washers and dryers upstairs. I have no clew, but there were only small breaks of quiet.
Première chambre médiocre. Pas d’eau chaude pendant 24 heures.

The heater in my room wasn't working. I had to contact maintenance twice to fix it. I end un no calling any more because if the nuisance. The room was super cold, mind you it was -16° It was very uncomfortable to sleep in that cold room. In another matter i brought to attention to the manager to take in consideration that since we arrived late on the 25th, not on the 24th, as an exeption, to give us a refund for the unused day, but she refused. Also the carpet in the room was filthy. Never been vacuumed. My socks are witnesses of that. On arrival day, the shuttle never came, we had to pay for a taxi. Feel free to contact me with any questions.
Stay was OK. It was nothing special but I mean really you get what you pay for and at this end you got a little bit more than you pay for. Minus the unique characters hanging around the lobby in and out. But there isn’t much you can do about that. All in all, it was great. Best thing about the hotel was the restaurant in the mall Ricky’s.
We stayed at the hotel for three nights, not once did the room get cleaned and we were out of the room first thing in the morning till later afternoon. Room was extremely hot. Had to sleep with the windows open or it would be 29° in the room. And with the windows being open had to listen to everything outside snow clearing machines, beeping, buses, running barely got any sleep all night.
Great place to stay overlooking some of Downtown, what’s nice about it is that they have a lot of international guest and it is next to a mall that has various restaurants and stores and it’s easy to get transportation to the important places. If you stay at the fancy hotel, it is more of a luxury experience with this place is functional for the city. It’s also close to a Filipino restaurant, Chinese restaurant, burger restaurant bar, Tim Hortons, and not far from the liquor store. the stuff was great in the hotel is very secure.
The room AC unit was broken, resulting in a temperature above 26 Celsius. One of the outlets was pulled out of the wall, resulting in a hole with exposed wires behind the bed. Roon 404 for referance
Local area is teeming with people requesting change and/or cigarettes.
Original room's sink water supply stopped after spewing out a large clump of dirt.
Second room had the same problem on the last night of my stay.

Gave it a 2 since the staff is really friendly, but the place really needs upgrading. Friends from Yellowknife call it the "lack of quality inn". Rugs are filthy and rooms are only passably clean when you get there. If you want clean towels, you need to get them from the front desk.
