Not What I Booked
I did not have a good experience with this accommodation. I first booked an apartment close to the airport, I was informed that for some reason that apartment was no longer available so I would get a place in Cocody Faya, which sounded good to me. When I arrived in Abidjan, I had very little knowledge of where to go for my accommodation, just an address to give the taxi. I was taken to a third location, not in Cocody Faya but Yopougon. This would not have been a problem, except I booked a private room and I was not given a private experience. I was not dealing with Regine, but her brother, and I was staying in his apartment. I am extremely disappointed because I felt very uncomfortable because I was not given a private space to myself. Her brother and his manager would come in and out of the apartment whenever they pleased. When I was trying to go to bed they would come in and and take forever to get out. They would use the kitchen without asking me. I had to make an important phone call and they made me feel like the bad guy when I asked them to leave. One night I deadbolted the door so he wouldn’t come in really early and wake me up (which happened on two of the mornings) and he banged on the door until I answered it. This was very early in the morning. He had assumed that it would be ok to come in while I was sleeping and grab his things before an early meeting. He then proceeded to make me feel bad for making him late for his meeting. I booked a private experience and didn’t get it. Will not book through them again.
