Wow! We loved staying at the Artists Cottage. We felt right at home and it was visually appealing. Our hosts were very helpful. The cottage had everything we needed and more.
We had a wonderful stay in Ajo, AZ! Charleen and Greg were excellent hosts—welcoming, attentive, and genuinely kind. The space was comfortable, thoughtfully arranged, and filled with beautiful art created by Charleen, which made it feel truly special. It was the perfect place to relax and enjoy the unique charm of the area. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay with these wonderful hosts again. Thank you both for a memorable experience and wonderful muffins!
The cabin is very cute and has everything for a comfortable stay. Glen is a very nice man and we enjoyed visiting with him and seeing all the work he put into his property. Location is perfect for grocery and restaurant.
The cottage is small but cozy and well-appointed. Glen and Charlene were friendly and helpful. It is a good place to stay with a wonderful view of the mountains and sky. Comfortable beds and thoughtfully equipped with microwave fridge coffee maker and coffee, grill and nice outside spaces.

The room was in good condition, and was extremely thoughtfully put together. Charleen prepared nicely for our arrival, sending us messages about what to expect, and even stocking the fridge with snacks and homemade muffins. Our only complaint about the cottage itself had to do with the water system. There is only one setting for the shower- which is uncomfortably hot, and only one setting for the faucets in the kitchen and bathroom- which is uncomfortably cold. Other than that, we enjoyed being surrounded by Charleen's artwork, and loved the outdoor seating areas.
Our only other complaint is NOT about the cottage. The surrounding neighborhood is rough, and there are many homes in disrepair, falling down. It is beautiful during the day, but made us nervous at night. We understand that this was not at the fault of our host, who was lovely.
Perfect for an overnight or two stay or longer. Hosts very welcoming. It's how I picture tiny house living. Unique, clean and charming. Well stocked for anything you could possibly use or need with several refrigerated treats
Clean. Cozy. Snacks in the refrigerator. Fresh baked muffins. Friendly helpful hosts. All is good.

Charlene and Glen have created a very comfortable stay and included every possible amenity you could think of or need. The binder of information included local history and culture, dining options in local businesses. The artist cottage is truly by an artist and included some supplies to draw our paint for guest.. Her artwork display their is in a league of its own.
The place was clean and very well decorated (one of the owners is an artist). It's also within walking distance of Circle K which is open 24 hours (and given that I didn't arrive until 1:00 AM I found this quite handy). If I am ever in Ajo again I would choose to stay here.
the property was wonderful, very clean, colorful and inviting. The hosts have thought of everything to make our stay stress free and very pleasant. Ample supplies and extras that just say welcome. The check in was easy and the host came over to say hello and welcome us to the cottage. He came over and asked if we wanted a fire in the fire pit. Made for a very relaxing evening enjoying the beautiful night sky. Looking forward to our next stay at this beautiful property.
Attending our 50th class reunion was so much fun. And staying at The Artist's Cottage completed a great weekend. My sister and I were doing all the events planned, and having this little quiet, perfectly appointed cottage to relax, recharge and rest in was amazing. Charleen was so nice, thoughtful, and anticipated things guests would need, and provided goodies that were so appreciated. Will definitely stay again the next time we are in Ajo.
The Artist’s Cottage is a lovely reflection of Charleen’s artistry and Glen’s construction skills. The small space is well equipped, efficiently organized, and enhanced by the presence of Charleen’s art on display. Everything necessary for a comfortable stay was provided and Glen was an amiable guide to the local area. When we experienced car trouble the day after our stay, Charleen and Glen went far above and beyond to assure us that, if we needed a place to stay, they’d hold the cottage for us. When we learned that we wouldn’t need to remain in Ajo, they assured us that we could call on them if we needed help on the road; they even contacted us early the next day to make sure we’d made it safely home!! Needless to say, we definitely recommend the Artist’s Cottage!
I had clear directions from the owners regarding the address, door code, etc; had phone numbers to reach them. They had various generous, healthy drinks in the fridge, mints, cookies, teas, coffee maker and coffee, ice in freezer, plenty of towels, clear booklet with WIFI, info about the area, history, etc. Fridge is larger than what one gets in most hotels rooms. I especially enjoyed the landlady's art work on the walls, and getting to talk with her on the phone about her work as well. I even got the landlord's permission to use some pvc scraps from his workshop, to use in my own workshop in the public library! Even though they weren't on the property that day, I felt that we had met. They were very accommodating and friendly people, and I hope we can meet in person some day. The only trouble I had was with the water. They had told me to call if I needed help, "at any time". But I thought that 10pm was too late to call. The next day, they explained that I just needed to turn the knobs harder, beyond what felt like "the end". Enjoy your stay here!
The Artists Cottage is a breath of fresh air. It’s small, but by no means is it cramped. It’s quint and homey, and gave off a down to earth/good time feel that was immediately felt. It has all the amenities one would need. Nothing was left out.
This one room cottage is a gallery filled with eclectic art. Spending time with any of the Charleen’s pieces (and we did) is time well spent.
It is a solitary place, set with a view of the mountains, where sunrise and sunset were appreciated; where moments of each night were reserved for viewing the night sky filled with stars.
Our short residence at the cottage…this wonderful art gallery was truly a unique experience that will be remembered. For us, it was a moment in time to catch a memory, and we thank Glen and Charleen for providing it. Thanks a bunch!

The cottage was cozy and lovely with Charleen's art. I had a wonderful time and would love to come back.
A lovely and quiet place to stay. The hosts are great and always available to answer questions or help if needed. The cottage is very clean and inviting.
My adult son and niece stayed here while visiting Oregon Pipe National Monument. They both had a great time exploring the area and photographing the beautiful landscape. They said the host was sweet and helpful. They would definitely stay here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay.
We enjoyed the cottage, it is comfortable, efficiently and tastefully furnished, and very well supplied. The owners were immediately responsive to any concern. We would happy to stay there if we return to Ajo.
Only stayed one night, but so delightful will consider coming back and staying longer. Comfortable furnishings and inside climate. Lots of art. Not only the owner's paintings to see, but everything was artful: the bedding, various pieces around the place, even an artsy toilet bowl brush and plunger holder - lol! Mr. Spouse did a little water color with the supplies there. And so nice sitting outside at night looking at the stars. Will spread the word and hopefully be back.
