Hotel Halond was a great home base for our trip to Iceland! The rooms were new, clean, & spacious. The shared kitchen space was also helpful! The fridge in the room was large and able to hold a large amount of food for the week! We enjoyed the location as it was very close to everything in Akureyri. Also a great central location for traveling Northern Iceland! The hotel staff were very responsive when emailing them for fresh towels etc! Would definitely return!

Overall highly recommended. The room is on the larger side compared to the other hotels and guesthouses we stayed at. You can pull the car directly in front of the room which is convenient.

This place was super easy and convenient. The room was great. It is set up for viewing the Northern Lights with nice big windows. We were there during the summer, so that didn’t matter, but I’m considering returning during the winter.

Loved this hotel! The hotel sent over the check in instructions days ahead of time, really easy to follow and to get into our room. Big beautiful room with mini fridge and coffee in the room . Was really easy to park right by our patio to load and unload the car.

The hotel was great. Breakfast started too late so we were unable to take advantage of it 7:30 on week days 8:30 on weekends The only problem was that they sent us the wrong room number and code for one of our rooms. When we got back that evening we couldn’t get into the room. We were moved to another room after a long conversation via phone with the staff Love the keyless entry but would have been helpful to have someone on site.
