The location on one of the main streets in the beautiful city of Akureyri was superb. We could walk around and there was plenty to see and do. Nice bonus was the discount at the bakery next door!

Okay vor a few nights, probably more suitable for younger persons.
Washroom and kitchen were communal, but it worked out okay because all guests were considerate.

Loved this sweet guesthouse, amazing service!
Amazing service!!! It turned out that we hade booked the wrong date so when we arrived they were not prepared for us. But somehow they managed to get us a room so we wouldn't have to sleep in the car. They even called the booking agency and everything to sort out the money so we didn't need to bother with that. Loved this place!!! It is also a really great location in the middle of Akureyri with a nice bakery on the ground floor where we had breakfast. The room was nice and tidy.

Likes:
- Nearby a shopping center that conveniently had gas, grocery store, and pharmacy in same location quiet neighborhood
- Bed and bedding were comfortable
- Didn’t receive check-in instructions in my email but after calling the manager was quick to send information and answer questions
Dislikes:
- Shower was clogged and the shower was very shallow so water filled up the shower very quickly. I had to turn off the water and wait for it to drain while showering.
- Rooms had no place to hang up clothes or towels to dry
- The building itself looked dilapidated but inside was fine
- Main light in the bedroom didn’t work
Booked a family room on Hotels.com, that stated it had a queen bed and two twin beds with a private bathroom.
When I arrived onsite there was no onsite check in, just a speaker on the door to press a button to check in. No one answered. The door just opened. Our name was on a board for self check in.
When we got to the room up 4 flights of stairs no elevator, the room only had 1 queen bed and a couch. No private bathroom, but a bathroom and shower shared with 4 other rooms. When we called, they stated they had no rooms with private bathrooms, that it was a mistake on Hotel.com website.
We then ended up seeing that we were charged over $100 more for the room than shown and there was no one at the hotel to discuss the charges with.
Traveler beware.

Disliked: Staff & service, amenities
No staff at arrival. Existing guests had to unlock door. No directions on parking provided prior to arrival. Carpets on stairs poorly maintained. Bathrooms at end of hall. Property very noisy but left ear plugs. Very expensive for a poor value. Only location in city was good and room clean. Otherwise very expensive for what is provided. Disappointing.

Disliked: Room comfort
Loud, basic
This hostel was very loud from both street noise and hall/kitchen noise. There was nobody on the property to talk to about any issues. I never saw a single employee/owner. There was a large party on our floor (we had room 21) that decided to have a very loud dinner from 10:30PM to after midnight. They were so loud (slamming doors and dishes and talking as loud as if they were in a club) that my husband finally, after about an hour and a half, askdd them to be quiet. He shouldn't have to confront other guests; someone who works there should been there to quell it. The street noise was equally awful on Saturday night (Sunday night's street noise was better), and the window would not close all the way so it could not be stifled. Bathrooms were okay. Beds were fine (not comfy but fine).
Fantastic location, good price, very helpful staff, spacious room and kitchens on each level made this an overall lovely stay! It really had everything we needed, including a fridge that fit plenty of food (long story, we had to bring in a weeks’ worth of groceries unexpectedly), convenient bathrooms, nice shower, and plenty of space to cook. My only (relatively minor) complaint is that the common spaces needed a little more cleaning attention: no hand towels in the bathroom and a coffee maker with used grounds in it that no one had looked inside in waaaaay too long. That being said, I would definitely recommend this place, no question.
comfortable room with big windows, had shared kitchen and bathroom. no staff on premise. very great location. offers discounts at neighboring cafes and bakeries.
The guesthouse was situated within walking distance of shops and restaurants. WiFi was great! The only issue was the call button for check in was out of service, so we couldn’t get into the building until some other guests let us in. Hopefully they fixed that. Everything else was great.

Nice guesthouse in the center of the city.
We arrived after sunset and will leave before sunrise, but it looks like a nice city.
Room was simple, but fine for a night sleep.
