Old Stones Cottage is situated perfectly for getting around Ambleside and is a great hub for exploring the lakes. The cottage has plenty of space for a family and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. One thing that was quite noticeable during the stay was a loud and constantly running fridge fan in the open plan living area. For Parking, permits for on street parking and Public Car parks are provided, but luck is needed to get parked close to the property. Instead one of the long stay public car parks appeared to be my only option. That aside, the cottage was very clean and was very well presented and I would certainly consider staying here again on a future visit to the Lakes.

The check in information did not arrive in time and it took 15 min to call and sort things out. Otherwise, there is no complaint on the property. Street parking with permit, it sometimes needs luck to find a nearby parking space.
