We picked this place because they had a shuttle and the rental car would be closed when we got there-unfortunatelly our flights got moved up and we didnt have a car for about 18 hours. The place is not modern, but don't let that deter you-it was very clean, we felt safe. It is in a rundown area-but to be honest most of anchorage seems run down. The breakfast was great (especially without a vehicle-it was eggs, potatoes, sausage, muffins, cereal, etc.). The shuttle driver was very nice and took us to a place for dinner and shopping and back to get our car when it was ready.

Nothing fancy but it gets the job done. Just a short distance from the airport, railroad depot, and downtown. They have a very convenient shuttle that runs 24/7 during the summer. This alone makes it worth the stay if you are in Anchorage. The staff members were very nice and knowledgeable about the local area.

The rooms are basic but very clean. The property is conveniently located right next to Merrill Field if you are flying out of there. There’s a decent buffet style breakfast in the mornings from 6-9. The best part of the hotel is the shuttle. It’s free, and will pick you up from the airport or take you into downtown Anchorage, the train station, Merrill Field, etc. it’s very convenient for people who just need a night or two in Anchorage before or after a trip elsewhere in Alaska.

We booked 2 one night stays. On the way into and out of Anchorage. Planed to use the shuttle but considering the condition of the motel I couldn’t trust it for 6am flight. Room was filthy. Rust on shower rod. Bathroom floor was gross. No heat. Complained and was promised they would send someone. No one came. Mornings were cold. If a lower than 1 rating I would give it.

From the outside, this has the air of a rundown hotel in an unattractive area. But check in with very helpful staff, go to your room and be surprised. The bathroom is huge, freshly remodeled, outstanding water pressure and very modern fixtures. The bed is extremely comfortable. The carpet could use an update but appears to be completely clean. And the room includes a microwave. They also have a free shuttle to the airport, which apparently is reliable since it showed up 10 minutes early for a 3:30 AM pick up. The price is an incredible value compared to anything fancier and closer to the airport. I would stay here again.
