"Booked 5 rooms for 5 people at Bira hotel. Booking was confirmed. Then an hour before we arrived, we were told the hotel was full and that we were being moved to another hotel. We then ended up staying at Hôtel MENABE'L, which is normally a cheaper hotel. We still had to pay the price for Bira Hotel, which was 50% higher than the listed price on Hôtel MENABE'L. However, the saving grace is the hotel's management, who went above and beyond in providing excellent service. On the night we checked-in, torrential rain made it impossible to go out and get dinner. Staff members drove us in their 4x4 to a restaurant, patiently waited for us, and drove us back. Wow, that blew me away! They just really need better access, but remember, it's Madagascar. You didn't come here for world-class infrastructure."
