Disappointing Experience
This property was difficult to locate and far from the "Urban Chic" experience I expected. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a strong musty odor—reminiscent of damp towels left too long—which persisted throughout the stay.The kitchen had very few electrical outlets, though the owner provided a power strip, which helped somewhat. However, the electrical system was problematic. While using the iron (with the refrigerator unplugged and all other appliances off), the breakers repeatedly tripped—making even basic tasks a challenge.Communication with the owner was inconsistent. I initially booked for 8 days but changed my plans and stayed only 5. I informed the owner nearly a week before the change deadline. His response: "Please proceed with your plans." I interpreted this as confirmation that the booking would be adjusted. Unfortunately, it wasn't. VRBO later informed me that both the owner and I had the ability to modify the reservation—but based on years of experience using VRBO, I've always seen owners make such changes directly in the platform calendar.On my checkout day, I notified the owner that the apartment was empty and requested a refund for the unused days. That owner stated we hadn't agreed to a refund because the stay was not modified. I refereed him to the earlier correspondence.There are many other properties in the area that likely offer better accommodations, more reliable communication, and greater flexibility. Regrettably, I cannot recommend this listing.
