Excellent stay - far from it all, close to it all, great hosts!
We stayed at Marianna Cottage for 5 nights in July 2018. We are Greeks living abroad and wanted a place that felt like being on holiday but still close enough to athens to see friends and family. Marianna Cottage was just amazing! Iosif and his father were excellent and responsive hosts! The cottage is basically two separate houses, a two bedroom upstairs and a one bedroom downstairs, each with its own bathroom and kitchen and self-contained. The house has a beautiful large garden and terrace, which we enjoyed immensely! The photos on the website are a very true and real representation of the home. The place is very clean, very well kept and with all amenities, including oven, fridge, coffee machine for french coffee, toast maker, microwave, hobs, etc. All necessary cutlery for a comfortable stay are provided. Linen and towels are clean and soft. The place is just 5-7 min drive from Palaia Fokaia beach, a 25 min drive to Sounio Temple and Sounio beach, and 10 minutes drive from Mauro Lithari beach. It's less than 5 min drive to a large super market and 5-7 min drive to the main road ("paraliaki") and all the tavernas/ coffee places and other amenities in Anavissos/ Palaia Fokaia. You need a car however, as the house is so close, yet so far, which is why I chose this title and which is why we loved it as it's a close drive to everything you need and want, but also in a quiet, spacious, country side area with one storey houses with large gardens so it's very quiet and you hear no noise or cars. It would be quite deserted to walk to and back from the house so a car is a must. There is private parking inside the garden, and you have to drive a narrow entrance to get there, so this house is for a family or two families, or friends to share, who want to be close to everything but also far from it all! We got a sense of countryside, beach life and we enjoyed having lunches and dinners at the veranda and coffees and sunbathing in the garden. Highly recommended! Iosif was super kind and very caring, called us the day we checked in and the next day to make sure all was well and to ask if we needed anything! Definitely coming back! thank you Iosif and family!
