The home was clean and well maintained. It's not a huge home but it was more than ample for 6 adults. Everything worked without exception. The kitchen had everything needed for any type of meal. Vons is just a block away and the board walk just a couple more blocks. The owner Amy is congenial and helpful. For the cost we believe it's the best deal in town.

The property has enough space for the 8 of us. It is very close to Von’s supermarket (few mins walk), excellent location due to close proximity to the beach area. We stayed 2 nights, we were only provided with 1 toilet paper & 1 kitchenpaper towel; I informed the property mgr, Amy, who said she will have a cleaner deliver some but didnt happen (so prepare to buy ur own); theres no body soap too. For the price we paid, I expected enough essentials. The toilet upstairs was clogged, good thing we fixed it with a plunger. Lastly, we were not aware that there was no wifi in the property. Overall, we were happy with the location and kitchen amenities.

Great Location. Home deferred maintenance
The home is in a wonderful location. The floorplan is great but the home has a lot of deferred maintenance. 1. Blinds in Poor Condition: The blinds in the front window were falling down and had missing slats. This issue not only compromised our privacy but also affected the overall aesthetics of the living room. In the evenings, it felt like we were in a fishbowl with minimal privacy. 2. Lack of Proper Cleaning: There were noticeable issues with cleanliness throughout the home. The blinds in various rooms were dusty, as were the ceiling fans and portable fan. Dark spots on the ceiling above the dining table were also present. These issues were not only unsightly but also raised concerns about the property's overall maintenance. 3. Maintenance Issues: Several maintenance-related problems were encountered during our stay. Lights in some areas were not functioning, and the primary bedroom's ceiling fan upstairs made concerning noises, as though it might fall down. The dishwasher was not working properly, which made meal preparation and cleanup more challenging. 4. General Wear and Tear: The walls throughout the property were quite scuffed, and the glass shelves were dusty. These issues gave the impression that the property had not been well-maintained. 5. Chair: My sister went to sit on dining chair and fell on ground being the seat cushion is not attached and she fell through. 6. Fireplace: Fireplace screen is filthy and fire hazard.

Convenient to town
Overall I did like the location of this property. It was close to Vons and to the town and since we had a one year old with us that was very convenient. It is a little bit noisy being on a main street however we dealt with that using our white noise. It was a bit hot inside since we were there in August but it was manageable. We would stay there again.

Enjoyed our stay. House was bright & clean. For owner information: Towels were a little rough. Being a house for 8 it was hard not having enough space at a table for meals or games. The shower upstairs does not drain… and trash bin was completely full. But again overall was a fantastic week. Thank you!

I don’t think the property lived up to expectations. We were a party of 6 but there was only a table for 4. We couldn’t eat together. The BBQ was dirty and we had to clean it before we could use it. Communication between owner and us was non existent. We couldn’t open the pantry door and she promised to send someone over however no one came. All said and done I would never rent this property again.

The house is decorated very well and is pleasant to stay in. The location is superb and fun to walk a few blocks to the main drag. It is very clean and well appointed. I do agree with some other people that a new couch would be good! But, everything else is awesome and the owner is super nice.

Warning! Just a heads up
We arrived very early due to Ferry options. Unfortunately unable to drop off our luggage as an option. Check in is at 3pm, when we arrived the place is cute, first thing I noticed was the sectional was very dirty to the point we used the extra linens to cover it to be able to relax. Second thing your unable to walk around with no shoes floor was extremely dirty. Few steps and your feet would be black. It was also sticky. Upstairs the dressers aren’t secured to the walls and top draw in the bunk bed bedroom sticks my grandson went to open it to unpack and dress almost fell on him and fan on top hit him on the head. Safety concern. There is no AC but they do provide fans in every room, all tho some are full of dust.the walls coming down the stairs are very dirty, mop them down would clean it up. I went to open dishwasher and previous tenant and left fork with sugar and ants everywhere, bottom bedroom windows not not close safety concern. Bathroom faucet downstairs was broken. Overall I would consider it a very dirty place which made it uncomfortable to enjoy. Even tho everyone is charged cleaning fee. Maybe need new cleaning company. I do have to say location was great, Vons down the street , everything is pretty walkable.

Family getaway
The location was perfect, a short walk to everything including the grocery store! There was pros and cons..pros- the location was very convenient, it was big enough for my family, nice and clean, they had a lot of extra towels and puzzles for the kids! The kitchen, living room combo was perfect set up for my big family! Cons - the dining table needs to be fixed , the glass almost slipped off a few times while putting a puzzle together and the balcony from the home next door is extremely close to the master bedroom, our neighbors would be up at 8 am talking and laughing loudly and it was hard to sleep in. The AC is not connected so on hot days some of the rooms got hot , also check out was at 10:00 am , too early to get a big group up to leave.

We had a great experience. Rental was clean, everything worked and it was in a good location. Eric came by to check how things were going which was nice. Just be careful around the bed frames. The grown ups kept knocking their knees on them.

Be careful
It was an easy walk from the ferry dock to the house, but when we walked in it was not very clean. The floors were really dirty and a lot of the pans were not cleaned well. We were told not to unplug the Directv box, and also there was no Wifi at the house. We had a good two night stay, but after we left, we got charged a lot of money for leaving the place "dirty," breaking four glasses and ruining some towels, despite only breaking two glasses. We were happy to pay for the items that we broke, but what we were being charged was not equivalent to the price that we owed. I also asked for proof of the "ruined towels" and never got any. Also, we were told we completely messed up the Directv box, despite not unplugging it or doing anything that were told not to do. We were charged and I offered to send replacements for the items we broke in order to make it cheaper for us and more convienent for the owner, my messages were not reponded to for two days. Also, the manager claimed that the cleaners came immediately after we left, but then said when she went to the house three days later it "smelled like vomit," after the cleaners allegedly came, which was somehow out fault. Some things were not adding up and the messages I was receiving back were rude. If you are going to stay here, definitely take photos and document everything to prevent any additonal fees.

Great place to stay in Avalon...FYI no WiFi
This place is a good setup for a family and could do two fams with kids potentially with the number of spaces in the kids bedroom. Property was very clean but with some minor signs of disrepair, nothing i'd say that is unusual for an Avalon rental in my experience. Looks like they replaced the couch recently because it looked brand new and other reviews noted poor couch condition, so that was a plus. I make the note about the WiFi just as an FYI for those not reading the fine amenities print like me. WiFi is not advertised in the listing so it's no fault of the owner manager that i didn't check beforehand, but in the year 2021 where clowns like me just assume everyone provides WiFi it was a surprise. Might suggest getting some WiFi :P Overall, it's a great spot to camp out for a weekend on the island, good adjacency to the grocery store for those dining in and also right by the play area/park for those with kids.

Dangerous furniture - Not good for small kids
Pros: property is clean, well stocked, property manager Eric is very responsive and helpful. Price is very good. A great potential to be an awesome property. Con: 5 Chester drawer upstairs is not bolted to the wall. If I put nothing in the drawer and just open A couple drawers, the entire chest would fall over. It can kill a small child. The king size beds bed frames are very sharp, my leg hit the corner at least five times upstairs. My leg was bleeding pretty bad. It’s been A few weeks, it had left a scar on my leg. My mother-in-law who stayed downstairs hit her leg on the corner of the bed many times as well. Living room has glass tables, the top are just floating on the frame. A potential hazard. The corners of the tables are also very sharp. It can easily stab a child’s eye. A few of their windows were not closing properly. Upstairs balcony door does not lock. The room with bunkbeds has no blinds at all, my kids were not be able to take a nap since room had no blinds. The stairs are not small kids friendly, too easy for them to roll down the stairs. The dining table can only fit four people. Front unit BBQ is on the street. Fireplace seems dangerous as well. I recognize that the owner has its limitations, but your furniture are got to be replaced. I am telling you this Sincerely because I really don’t want anybody to get hurt. And I don’t want anybody to sue you. Again, please don’t take it the wrong way. I am really hoping that you will at least bolt the 5 chest drawer to the wall.

Happy on the Island!
The only problem we experienced was because we sailed in and the mooring rental ended earlier than we were expecting. The place was well furnished and walkable. Just what we wanted.

Family Vacation
Overall, we had an amazing vacation. However, we have a few suggestions to improve the property: Wifi, larger TV in the living room, basic cable, and a golf cart. Although we were not in the room too much, during down time these amenities would have been nice. When I say basic cable, we wanted to watch the Clippers game, and TNT was not available (which seems strange it is not included with basic cable). The caretaker, Eric, is awesome. He is always available and willing to help. He picked us up at Von's with our groceries. Just a good dude.

The property is accurately described. 3 short blocks to the beach.
Nice house that fit our needs. The propane ran out our second meal which was a disappointment that should have not happened. The backup cylinder was empty. Beach towels are provided and helpful; that was a plus. Great kitchen but the glass table should be replaced with something with smoother edges and less danger. There is no wi-fi; just FYI. Batteries were removed from smoke detector which was easy to spot.

Perfect for hanging
The property was perfect for a group our size and make up (adult couples, a teenager, toddler and infant). There were a number of places that could fit our size group, but not comfortably for the number and size of the people (lots of twin beds out there in other places, a tight squeeze for our tall folks, LOL). The best part was it offered space for us to spend time together. It was clean and easy to get into. Eric, the property manager onsite, was awesome. He was extremely responsive and super helpful. My only "complaint" is there isn't any wifi, which would have been nice since my cell service was terrible, but some people enjoy being truly offline on vacation. All in all, our family loved the space and would come back.

Nice location !!
Location was perfect. Accommodated our family and friends stay for our sons 13th birthday. I only gave 3 stars for cleanliness because it could use some more cleaning. Found an old used contact lens on the bathroom counter so not sure how well things get wiped down. Also neighbor is kinda weird. Owner was very nice and responsive.

This was a great location, 10 min walk to the beach and restaurants. There was plenty of linen for the entire family, and the shower pressure and warm water was great. We also didn’t know the dryer was not working, but we were able to hang dry our clothes. The kids really enjoyed it.

Beautiful Home
Loved the property! It offered plenty of space for 7 adults and a 10 year old. Overall the house was beautifully decorated and clean. The proximity to Vons and the beach was convenient. Really appreciated use of the beach chairs, floats and small ice chest. House was fully equipped with everything we needed. Would definitely recommend and hope to return soon!

Great Location and Fabulous Layout
We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this property. There are actually two identical houses on the same lot which was perfect for us travelling with another family. The layout is perfect with a downstairs bedroom and bath off of the kitchen/living room and then two good size rooms and another full bath upstairs. Location is perfect just a few blocks from Crescent and close to the market. We will definitely come back again and stay longer.
