The Mallikarjuna temple at Pattadakkal was commissioned to be built by King Vikramaditya's younger wife Trailokamahadevi. It's dedicated to Lord Shiva and has ornate carvings from Ramayana, Mahabharata and other texts on its walls.

Another of the UNESCO heritage sites, these rock cut cave temples in Badami are very well preserved. There are a total of 4 caves, first and second dedicated to Lord Shiva and Vishnu respectively.
The carvings of these Ganas (or dwarves) greets you at the entrance pedestal of cave 2 at Badami.
Pattadakallu has a group of Hindu temples from 7-8th century. Well known for Chalukya architecture.
