This is a lovely old building with a modern bedroom wing, good value breakfast and delightful staff. Our room had really poor Wi-Fi that kept dropping out and BBC1 HD had no sound on the Samsung TV. Apart from those technical glitches it was absolute great.

Charming country hotel
A short overnight visit to this lovely host. Room 16 was full of character and very cosy. Staff friendly and helpful.

Lovely hotel
Perfectly kitted out room comfortable and quiet. Easy parking. Food and breakfast available. Quick and easy check in and check out. The only thing to mention is the radiator was off on my late arrival and it was very cold. Room was pre paid, would have been a nice touch if the room had been warmed before my arrival. It cannot complain the hotel was excellent

It’s a a good location but the breakfast is expensive …. The carpets are not that clean and need replacing . The carpets were not hoovered so disappointing…. The staff were helpful and friendly but it’s needs upgrading. The furniture in the bedrooms are poor quality . The bathroom taps was stiff and the baths very old ..

On approach this is a very nice looking place and the entrance/lounge/bar are all pleasant enough. However, I was allocated Room 8 which was billed as an Executive Room but in reality was a fairly bland porridge coloured space in the attic - certainly nothing like the pictures on the site. Not sure what made it Executive - a view of a flat roof and various satellite dishes through a pair of window shutters and a flat screen TV perhaps....However it was located right above the bar/restaurant and from the moment of check in to check out all I could hear was the piped bar music and the conversation of everyone in the bar/restaurant along with the close down and start up of the restaurant. I requested another room but was advised the stock answer of we're full so in effect tough. To add to this, the over shower in the bath was in a very narrow space and standing space virtually against the sloping attic roof so very cramped - watch your head! The only positve was a very soft but relatively comfortable bed and a clean room - hopefully the other rooms live up to the pictures but I suspect im not the only one who has complained about this room before.

The rooms are clean, warm and comfortable beds with friendly staff however the property is rather tired with draughty windows and bathrooms that require updating. On this visit there was only tepid water from the shower and on reporting it there was only cold water on offer the next morning. The bath ran warm water for a few minutes which then turned cold. When reported again on checkout was told I was supposed to have moved room the previous night however no one contact me to explain this. No refund was offered other than next time (not sure whenever this might be) they will upgrade my room.

Pleasant appearance. Too many steps, eg between breakfast room and self-serve area - balancing cups of tea/coffee while negotiating steps. Yes, it rained heavily during our visit - but route from car park to hotel full of large and deep puddles.

We do have some steps to navigate, we also have a side entrance and ramp for those with mobility issues.If steps are a problem we are very happy to set you a table for breakfast and dinner in an area of the hotel which doesn't have steps.
