Great stay

Fishing the Hawkesbury

The location and view is to die for, just stunning.. Perfect comfy rustic accommodation, we loved our family weekend away. Dave is the best, couldn’t ask for a better host he attended to our needs no matter the time. We will definitely be back.. Highly recommend A+++

Relaxing river stay

This unique property was the perfect escape for our family get together. David was an excellent host, very helpful and accommodating. I recommend the VIP package, it was great to cruise along the river in the pontoon boat!

Excellent location

We had an amazing time, we enjoyed the house boat and Jetty. David the host was very helpful and accommodating. Location was great for all of us to get away together. The house was a good fit for 8 adults and well appointed, it is a little old and in need of maintenance but this didn’t detract from the stay

Excellent water front stay!

The house is right by the river, stunning location, really beautiful spot. The use of the boat is a great addition. Excellent host, extremely helpful, kind and thoughtful, great local tips and very generous with his property. Would definitely recommend a stay, and we’ll certainly be back!

Beautiful location and wonderful host

My family and I had a fantastic stay at bar point. Situations on the point the views and access to the river are wonderful. David the host is friendly and truly aims to make the stay a perfect one. Local walks and hikes, along with great fishing and plenty of house games (pool, table tennis, air hockey, darts) made this a wonderful getaway for the family. Highly recommend for those looking for a relaxing get away.

Fantastic family weekend

We had a wonderful two-night weekend at Bar Point. The highlights were the lovely location, the (included) boat, and the fire pit in the back garden. David couldn't have been more helpful.

Fantastic Host & Location

This place is amazing. David was friendly, accomodating and a pleasure to deal with. We loved playing pool, darts and exploring the river system. Campfire is a must! Thanks David.

Tranquility & generosity

2 top things about the stay - the location, and the host. Such a beautiful and tranquil location, right on Sydney's doorstep. Mr David (as I our kids referred to him), exemplifies what a great host should be - warm, generous and welcoming. Nothing was too difficult for David, communications was easy, and he made our stay very memorable - we hope to be back!

Good location, outdated appliances

most, if not all, of the appliances were broken or just old (eg all 3 dvd players supplied were broken, none of the card/board games had all, if any, pieces, the pool table had a massive tilt rendering it almost unplayable, and the dart board fell apart as soon as a dart hit it!! david was a good host, however, i definitely recommend getting the VIP package with the boat hire as there isnt much else to do on the island.

Perfect family getaway

A rustic family getaway that the 10 of us plus our fur baby needed! It’s the simple pleasures that can make you feel most at home! Loved having the boat, it made it for us. How's the serenity?

Peaceful spot a short hop from the busyness of Sydney. David was a wonderful host and we made the most of the boat, the firepit and the kitchen! Beautiful sunsets on the water, lovely walks and a nice outlook on to the water. Property is rustic as others have said, but it has everything you could need. The dog was very happy zoomie-ing around the fenced yard, too. Will definitely be back.

Hidden gem

Just returned home and all I can say is all guests including myself left this stay without a negative thing to say. We had an absolute blast this weekend celebrating my partners milestone here. The property was very spacious with the most pretty ocean view. The atmosphere was so relaxing that as soon as we arrived it became home.David was an amazing host going above and beyond from communicating to accommodating to the guest needs.Thankyou David for sharing home I will be returning with the family real soon.

30th birthday on the island

I can not speak highly enough of our stay at David’s place. He has thought of everything to ensure his guests enjoy their stay. The pontoon boat, buggy and kayaks all contributed to a truly memorable weekend. We were sad to go and We are already planning our next stay. David also went above and beyond to accommodate us on my 30th birthday, through out the whole planning process and during our stay, he was extremely open minded and full of positivity. Beautiful tranquil location

We had a great family time in this beautiful tranquil location close to Sydney. Bar Point provided a unique experience for us and our overseas visitors. Our host David was friendly and communicated regularly. We included the boat package which included our pick up from the jetty to the property. It was a wonderful way to start our break. The use of the boat to explore the waterways was brilliant and lots of fun. The property is spacious and lounge room comfortable. The games were fun and we enjoyed sitting by the fire pit or on the deck in the evening. The property is “rustic” . The amenities (appliances, linen and crockery ) have seen better days however with a bit of TLC and maintenance this would be an amazing property.

Great riverside family house

Great spot to explore the river for a family plus a dog. Using the boat was awesome as was fishing off the wharf. The house was spacious for a family of 5 plus a dog.
