“The cleanliness could have been better..we had to ask for new sheets and pillow cases..as someone that is a manager for janitorial business, I would have hoped it would have been more than it was! We had to change our own bed bc there was no staff to do it. Then I noticed the cleaner in the morning was using the same mop water in every room..I get being short staffed but managing comes first so that’s where it starts!! Do better..”

“I stay here often so to see that the room I was given this last time was in poor condition surprised me. In addition to being asked several times if I was checking out (this was at around 9am) and constantly reminding me that check out is at 11am was a bit too much for me.”

“Montara, at reception, was super helpful and very sweet. The 1st room we were assigned to was for handicap on the first floor (which we’re not) and the smell was overwhelmingly musty. We stayed on the third floor, Montara did say the hotel was bought out by Marriott and renovations would be starting very soon. The hotel is in great need of repair…the sprinkler head in the bathroom was completely rusted, as was some broken tile on top of the shower wall and the popcorn ceiling had cracks in it……

“This was the worst Marriott property I have stayed at. If you stay there don't accept staying in room 108. I was next to the kitchen where they prepare the free brunch. I heard banging on the next room off and on from about 7-8:30 AM. Also, people who I assume were staff were talking right outside my door early in the morning. I was in a rush to get ready to go out and meet friends for dinner and as I went to get ready and take a shower I discovered that I did not have any towels. There were……

“It was a beautiful old Southern home. Our room was very poorly lighted and difficult to see things in the dim bathroom. The room had a musty odor also but was very clean. Our beds were comfortable and amenities were nice. Bed linens felt luxurious. We were a bit disappointed in the included breakfast. It consisted of lukewarm scrambled eggs that tasted like powdered eggs. Some fresh fruit and a few pieces of danish as well as cold cereals and some breads for toasting. I expected something more……

I get this was a cheaper option for the area, and even so expected much better. Further, it seemed like section 8 housing with lots of noise overnight.”
