We had a great time at the Shady Lady last night. Jennifer and Nigel are fantastic hosts and very personable. We had a campfire in the back and they joined us for an evening of laughs. Jennifer made a delicious breakfast. We would definitely recommend.

The owners are absolutely incredible! We knew we’d be arriving pretty late, so we gave them a call—and they truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was ready and that we could get in comfortably. Our room was perfectly prepared, and in the morning they served us a delicious breakfast. They even made sure our two corgis felt right at home with plenty of yummy treats, which was such a thoughtful touch!
Even though our stay was short, it was so special, and we would highly recommend this place to anyone. The owners really make the experience unforgettable!

We had trouble finding the location and we're tired after a long day of driving. We didn't want to drive 32 miles back into Beatty for dinner. Since we had some oatmeal in our we asked Jennifer if we could just prepare that for dinner. She kindly prepared a plate of fresh fruit for each of us to have with our oatmeal.
Breakfast the next morning was delicious! Definitely enjoyed our stay in this unique location!

Your property is a true oasis; everything from the interior design to the outdoor spaces is beautiful. You don't want to leave this place. I also particularly enjoyed the breakfast.
Unfortunately, because I was on a cross-country motorcycle trip, I was only able to stay for one night. However, if I am ever in the region again, I will definitely choose to stay with you.

Window ACs not installed yet but it was hot out. Room had no fan. Water pressure in toilet was too low for some business.
Room was adequate but warm. Found a book to prop open window.
Breakfast was tasty - standard American fare, scrambled eggs, sausage, fruit, toast, coffee and OJ.
Allergies activated by dust, peacocks and cat spray so won’t return.

NOT IN BEATTY!!!! No one will help you if you make the mistake of booking here! You’ve been warned. This place is more than 30 miles from Beatty, closer to Scotty’s Junction and ZERO services!!

Jennifer and Nigel are amazing hosts!
Community breakfast was a great way to meet new people, exchange experiences about different sites in the park.
Lovely peacocks outside adding to the rural atmosphere. We lived staying there and plan to return!

We were expecting quirky and charming (with a cult following) but we were so disappointed in the hospitality, mismatched microfiber sheets, crunchy towels and used bath mat…we chose to leave after about an hour and drive through the night. Also, the address says it’s in Beatty but it’s at least half an hour out of town.

A unique place to stay. Eclectic antique furnishings were fun. We enjoyed soaking in our private heart-shaped hot tub. The host suggested stargazing out behind the property, and the stars were great. Great collection of books in the parlor and dining room. Peacocks wandering about are fun. Our host was warm and friendly, the breakfast was large and tasty, and we enjoyed talking to other guests.
I guess technically it is in Beatty, but it is about 30 minutes north of the town center.

Don’t know about pet friendly however the owners are very accommodating to all of our needs. The room was cool but they had a space heater that made our room perfect.

My husband and I stayed here for a couple of days during our trip to Death Valley National Park and I have to say it was such a wonderful unique experience!
We stayed in their cabin and it was perfect. Very private with our own deck area with pool and our own fire pit with these spectacular peacocks everywhere and views!! Couldn’t believe it. They were so tame and beautiful. I actually fed one with my own hands. They come and visit you every morning to say “Good morning”
The best part was our hosts, Jennifer and Nigel. They are the kindest, sweetest people ever. The breakfast was great! Jennifer was kind enough to make sure my frenchie had some breakfast too! She cooked him eggs and bacon and sausage the days we were there treating us like family! Thank you. We had a fantastic time.

Really frustrated that the listing advertised its location as Beatty, NV when in fact it is about 20 miles outside of Beatty. This makes an astronomical difference if you’ve been hiking/exploring Death Valley National Park until sunset and want to get to your accommodations.
Being from out of town, and taking the listing as advertised, I did not map the address provided before we traveled. I didn’t think I needed to.
Ended up booking a last minute room at the Motel 6 in the actual town of Beatty. Was fortunate to get a room at 7:30 pm.

Me and my sister just came out for a few days to visit Death Valley National Park and the hosts made us feel like we were at home. Also it is such a serene property that helps one escape the hustle and bustle of city life (at least where I’m coming from). Would definitely stay there again! Also very friendly pets on property!

Jennifer and Nigel are absolutely the best bed and breakfast hosts in the industry! They are organized, kind, gracious and a lot of fun! Our delicious hot breakfasts both mornings were the perfect start to our days exploring Death Valley National Park. If you are visiting the Beatty, NV area we highly recommend staying at the Shady Lady.
