"Nice cafe / bar area. Comfy and the staff came round regularly to take orders. Breakfast was really good. Cooked to order. Staff very attentive. Room was nice. We had a ground floor room with an outdoor seating area although we don’t use it. Very light room, we had French doors and 2 windows in the bedroom."

"Window did not close, had to have staff come up and use a towel to wrap around the outside to yank it closed. Bathroom door side coming off door, had to push and hold door wood to close the door. Room walls had stains all over, bed in desperate need of replacement. No elevator and no help offered to carry bags to 2nd floor. Would not recommend."

"We loved our stay. We felt very welcome and the staff were fantastic! Such a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. We even met the cleaner on the stairs who stopped to ask if we needed anything wven though she was already really busy. We ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel both days and the food was delicious and very well cooked. We plan to return in the summer. This was our 2nd time in Dunoon but first at the marine hotel, we will definitely stay here next time. Perfect location for the ferry as its literally on the doorstep. Ample parking. "

"Bedroom was lovely, bathroom was very tired and needing tiles, flooring and door replaced, bar area was nice, but the high backed chairs needed a good clean. Dining room was faultless. Would stay again "

"The mattresses and pillows were really bad. Nothing was very clean other than the bathrooms. Our sink made noises most of the night, and our toilet rarely flushed. There was incredibly limited parking. There was a leak on our ceiling and very thin walls. You could hear every other occupant. There was also an unpleasant smell in one of our two rooms."

"We were late in checking in and the receptionist called us to book us a table for dinner, a nice touch. The food was incredible and the staff in the dining room were very attentive and friendly. The room (37) was huge and the finish of the furniture and materials was very good. We’ll be back. "

"Staff did the best they could and were extremely friendly but the overall stay was a big let down. We quite understood that our room would not be ready before the specified time but, as the website had mentioned a snack bar/deli we thought we'd spend some time there. Unfortunately it had closed some time ago. Although there was comfortable seating in the reception area it was freezing. We subsequently discovered that the hotel is only heated for an hour or two in the morning and again in the evening. We ate in the dining room the first evening and found the food was mediocre at best. The breakfast, however, was extremely good. It's a pity that the breakfast times were incorrect on the website meaning that our travel arrangements meant we had to skip it on our second day. Overall, very disappointing. The hotel seems to be catering for coach parties visiting for evening meals and not for the individual traveller."
