"This spacious and modern hotel is in a fabulous location and fully deserves all the praise and acclaim it continues to receive. The Spa and pools are excellent; breakfast was lovely and plentiful, and our room super comfortable and with a magnificent view of the mountains. Highlights: swimming in the heated outdoor pool area during heavy rainfall, which was weirdly comforting, and also looking out and seeing The Eagle's Nest on top of a nearby mountain. We wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we return to the region."

"Not a place I’ll go again/and or recommend. There’s plenty of great hotels on the way (in Oberau) that would suite you better if you want to have a nice sightseeing of the Alpes and still be close to Berchtesgaden. Buchenhöhe is located right in the mountains, so no views … on top of that it’s overpriced. WiFi works 1 time out of 3. They sell yogurt but can provide a phoking spoon (don’t want to help you out even if there’s plenty in the restaurant 2 meters away!!! Sorry for the owner. In every trip you always make a « mistake »… that was mine."

"We were very pleased with our overnight stay here. It was just one night so we chose a family room for the four of us, including our two young adult children. The room was exactly as pictured except even more comfortable than expected! The balcony wrapped around two sides with stunning views. We enjoyed the convenience of the little beer garden restaurant right next-door. It was very convenient to get to Bertchesgaten for our morning tour."

"I loved the location. However.... There were a total of 6 parking spaces for the entire hotel. Otherwise you had to be out of the public lparking ot between 9AM and 6 PM. It is on a busy, noisy street and since there is no air-conditioning you must sleep with the windows open. Too LOUD. The hotel is old and in need of renovation. It is also a maze of additions and confusing to get to rooms. Elevators are needed. The laundry is in another building."
