Wonderful stay and wonderful villa!

We were two families travelling together with 5 young children. We were met at the house by the owner who was very nice and service-minded. The house was immaculate, very clean and well-kept. The cleaning lady came three times a week, which almost makes you feel like staying in a five star hotel! The garden was huge and secluded with lots of space to play, and the pool was clean and good size. Both the garden and pool kept the children occupied for hours. You will need a car, but la Spezia is only a 10 minutes drive away and a great starting point for going to Portovenere and Cinque Terre, Portofino and other nice places. Pisa and Lucca was appr. 1 hour away by car. If you are looking for a beautiful quiet retreat and don't mind a short drive to get around, this is a very nice "hideaway". We really enjoyed our stay and the owner was super!!!

Sehr schönes Haus, einfach irgendwo im Nirgendwo

Das Haus ist wunderschön, sauber, verfügt über alles was das Herz begehrt, nur steht dieses Haus weit abgelegen in einem Dorf, welches über keine Bäckerei, Restaurant oder Geschäft verfügt. Schade.

Special in La Spezia

Villa Cicala is set in an elevated position overlooking the valley that sweeps up from La Spezia, the adjacent hills seem to wrap around to create a bowl and the views are lovely, The villa is very well equipped, comfortably furnished and set within a well attended large garden in a quiet residential area but with easy access to the village and route to the coast. All of the bedrooms are comfortable with lots of nice touches and the villa is very spacious with lots of quiet corners settle into and read. The pool and the outside loggia is splendid and we spent most of our time out there enjoying the sunshine and also some evening meals when we were not visiting the local restaurants, the owner Barbara also arranged for a local chef to cook for us one evening which was very special indeed. The area of La Spezia is stunning, the town itself is worth a days visit but the area has so much to offer, a 45 minute drive and you are in Portovenere ( more attractive than Portofino in my view ) with access to the Cinque Terre. We had a lovely holiday at Villa Cicala and highly recommend it as a Special place to stay !
