The hotel is very chic and stylish. It's central location is excellent, with the cathedral, shops and restaurants all in easy walking distance. Our group stayed in the basic twin bedrooms which whilst small, were very comfortable, clean, with fabulous views across the countryside. The lack of any tea or coffee making facilities in the room is an issue. The hotel staff, particularly the reception staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful, sorting out dinner reservations for the three evenings of our stay. However, the hotel only notified us a couple of days before our arrival that it was necessary to book a table in the hotel restaurant at least two weeks in advance for evening meals. Also, that the restaurant would be closed for two of the three evenings of our stay, hence us having to eat out every evening. On arrival we were then informed that the bar would also be closed for three evenings. As there were no tea or coffee making facilities in any of the bedrooms, it was not possible to get any drinks in the hotel when we returned each day from sightseeing around the area. I would recommend this hotel and would return but maybe avoid Sundays and Mondays when the restaurant and bar are closed particularly as many of the nearby shops and restaurants in Bezier also closed on those days

Lieu atypique charmant
Je m'y suis arrêté pour un trajet pro. Le lieu est vraiment atypique et très bien rénové. Les chambres sont sommaires mais décorées avec gout tout en respectant le lieu originel. Le petit déjeuner est parfait et la vue est incroyable.

Unique place to stay. Not that much room in the bedroom - but it did use to be a prison cell, so no surprise! En-suite bathroom was good. Great location and good restaurant. Bar staff could be a bit friendlier, but reception and everyone else was great.

A few tweaks needed in an otherwise stunning hotel
The concept of Le Prison is carried through the hotel. Unfortunately the walls of the rooms are rough plaster that comes off on clothing, bedding, anything that touches it. Not a good look, or a good feel. The pool was narrow but lovely, but also there was a slippery algeacovered platform at one end that caused me to slip into the pool instead of sitting down on the platform. Dangerous.

Best prison I’ve ever stayed in
Lovely different hotel. Deliberately chosen because it was a former prison. Directions/road signs hit a miss, but sat nav got us there via very narrow streets. There’s some hotel parking, but also other local secure car parks at realistic prices. The town is full of bars and restaurants. Is worth taking the little train out to the locks of the camel de midi, but it’s also only a half walk. Only downside of the hotel is that the rooms don’t have air conditioning.

Magnifique! THE place to stay in Béziers.
Wow! What an amazing place to stay! The prison is in an incredible location in the heart of old Béziers and with stunning views over the river and countryside. It has been beautifully restored to a high standard, with original features and modern artistic touches. We loved the concept of being able to sleep in a cell, whilst having features of a boutique hotel like swimming pool and gourmet breakfast. Simon Calder (famous British travel journalist) was staying there the same night as us, so it must be trending! Spend at least one night there while prices are still low and before it gets too well known!

à l'aide ,il fait trop chaud,n'y allez pas en été
tres belle hotel , mais je vous le déconseille fortement en été ou au primtemps , les chambres n'ont pas de climatisation (3 chambre climatiser sur toutes les chambre de l'hotel), on vous fourni un ventillateur tres bruillants et si vous ouvrer les fenetres vous ne dormirez pas à cause du bruit , j'ai passé deux jours et je n'ai pas dorms du tous (pour information j'habite a cote de marseille , je suis donc habitue à la chaleur) , c'etait vraiment orrible pour le resto c'est pareil , fermée le lundi soir et le mardi soir (dommage lorsqu'on est une femme et que lo'n choisi un hotel avec retaurent pour justment ne pas sortir le soir)

Plus qu'un hotel, une experience.
Sincerement un des meilleurs rapports qualite/prix que nous ayons pu trouver dans l'hotellerie. La restructuration architecturale de cette ancienne prison en hotel est exceptionnellement reussie. Un jusye equilibre entre minimalisme, respect du lieu, modernite et confort. Une vue de dingue. Seul bemol.....le super ventilo placé dans chaque chambre ne remplace pas la clim....malgré les murs epais, les prisonniers devaient avoir chaud et nous aussi (mais il faisait 38 degres a l'exterieur) Sinon, parfait !
