Good long distance view of the ocean, a 5 minute drive from town. Some parts of the house have been obviously renovated, and bedding was clean and comfortable. However, the property is in need of an extensive and thorough clean. Dust has accumulated on the carpets around the furniture, and the flyscreens were caked with grime and dust. The smell from the dishwasher when opened led to a check of the filter which clearly had not been cleaned for quite a while, which required one of us to spend some time cleaning it out.The lounge, dining area and kitchen furniture are in very poor condition. Kitchen utensils, crockery, glassware and equipment are in need of replacement (or as another reviewer commented earlier, it all appears to have been sourced from Vinnies). This property was very disappointing to the four of us who have stayed all over Tasmania in recent years. In our view we made a significant error in selecting this property given its poor condition and presentation. Whilst the local agent was responsive to our concerns by way of discounting the daily rate, there was much discussion among our group about whether we would seek another short term rental in Bicheno rather than stay in such conditions. We stayed, given we would have lost our payment, but needless to say, the consensus opinion of our stay in Bicheno was significantly tainted by such poor accommodation.
