We loved our stay - although be prepared ... this is right next to the sea and you can hear it day and night. To me it was soothing and I fell to sleep. Hubby, who is a light sleeper found it noisy!
Local shops down near the front and not far away, back over the bridge there is a good Tesco's.
Places to see - bit of a drive but well worth it - the Japanese Gardens and the Cornwall Aviation History which is found on a working airfield and the Gnome Reserve. Locally there is Appledore and a little down the road is Widemouth Bay. Plenty of walks, along the coast path and for those quick last night "walks" the building gives plenty of protection from the wind and rain. Although we came only with the dog, I would say this is a great place for those who love sea sports and the beach goes on for ever for those with children.
Part of the beach not available to Dogs during the summer but we were here out of season so no issue to us.
BUT best time was just sitting, French window open to listen to the sea, tides, wind, gulls and watching those brave souls in the sea pool!!!!!
ENJOY YOUR STAY.
