• Gunung Dua Saudara • In English it is literallly translated as Two brother/sister mountain. I know it sounds ridiculous! People name this mountain Dua Saudara because there are two mountains next to each other. Not far from these mountains there is Mount Klabat, the highest mountain in Minahasa Peninsula of North Sulawesi. This area is protected by government to provide home for wild animals that only can be found in Sulawesi, such as Tarsiers, Macacas Nigra, and others. The famous wildlife area is Tangkoko nature and wildlife reserve. It attracts volunteers from around the world to help locals protect and study these unique animals, such as documenting, providing medicines, campaigns and taking care of these unique animals. If you are a nature enthusiast, this area is an exciting destination. For more information, you may look it up on the internet, Batuputih, Tangkoko nature and wildlife reserve. Accommodation is very basic if you decided to stay in this area. But there are several nice cottages along Lembeh Straits, where is near from Tangkoko nature and wildlife reserve. What to do? There are plenty of beautiful sites in this natural reserve including beaches, jungles, waterfall, mountains and others but you will need a guide to guide you in this wilderness. Furthermore, since it's located near Lembeh Strait, diving is a must.

• A Handful of Lava • Black sand it is! :P Basically, black sand beaches is formed due to the nearby volcanic activities. North Sulawesi has several active and passive volcanos such as Lokon, Klabat, Mahawu, Soputan and other mountains. The latest volcanic eruption happened last year. What is unique about Lembeh strait is that it has both white sand and black sand beaches. Moreover, it has beautiful sceneries and you could enjoy sunrise from here. What is more even unique is found below the surface. The marine life is very different, you could find the tiniest horse sea, frogfish and other beautifully ugly animals. Unfortunately, i haven't obtained a diving license yet therefore i could not provide you with some underwater pictures. Black Sand Dive Retreat is the perfect place to live when you visit Lembeh Strait for its magnificent marine life. It has nice and private bungalows, friendly and knowledgable staff, great meals and situated not far from Bitung city. What to do: - Diving - Boat ride - Banana Boat - Exploring the surrounded areas - Having a handful of lava on your palm!
- Lembeh Straits - This strait is so beautiful. Lots of tiny islands, cliffs, beautiful view and of course beautiful and unique marine ecology. There are few beautiful resorts that will provide you with nice accommodation, such as BlackSands Retreat, Dabirahe @ Lembeh Hills and Kungkungan Bay resort. These resorts will help you to explore the beautiful underwater world of Lembeh Strait. Getting here is very easy as it's connected by road from the capital of North Sulawesi, Manado. It's about one and a half hour ride from Manado to here.

Great staff, always stay Favahotel when I visit Bitung but, the hotel carpets to the rooms need to be renewed Lovely pkace very friendly staff and the food is nice

Das Hotel ist sehr einfach gehalten hat aber eine Klimaanlage & liegt in unmittelbarer Nähe zum Nationalpark. Wir haben eine morgentour & eine Abendtour gemacht mit Guide vom Hotel das war wirklich Mega wir haben alle Tiere gesehen & tolle Fotos gemacht
