10/10 Excellent

"This is a motel that is five minutes outside of Lunenburg. It is very quaint and cute. It was very clean and had everything that we needed including two nice seats out front that you could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather and right across the road is the beach and you’re on a bay of the ocean and we watched a whale feeding. It was quite amazing. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a stop over."

"We had first floor room with outside access. Really cut down on loading and unloading the car. We stayed on a weekend and it was quiet. Slept better than I usually do in a hotel. Loved that the bathroom light switches were inside the bathroom and that there was a night light so you didn't really need to turn on the light. "

"The room was very comfortable and clean. Blackout curtains did not cover all of window so room was light first thing in the morning. Bed was excellent. Nice to have 2 chairs. Hotel staff were very nice and accommodating. Breakfast was per usual - hard boiled eggs, sausage, breads, muffins, cereal, some fruit and yogurt. The dining room attendant kept everything well stocked, tidy, and asked if anyone wanted anything before he closed it up."

"This is a gem of a location. Margaret is a delightful host with a tremendously interesting backstory. The house is beautiful and includes all original wood which is stunningly finished. Our first night we were in a small room that didn't have air conditioning, but on the second night they moved us to a larger, air conditioned room at no additional cost. Breakfast each morning was freshly made croissants and scrambled eggs, as well as fruit and yogurt. We ate at a common table and had great conversations with our fellow travelers and Margaret. Location at Mahone Bay is beautiful in itself, is walking distance from several restaurants and a very nice pub, and a short drive to Lunenburg. Margaret is wonderfully welcoming - you have the run of the house and she even turned the TV to the World Cup game for us. It's like staying with old friends. I can't recommend this more thoroughly."
