“We communicated specifics with the owner, so won't go into full details. The location is great, but that doesn't overcome that it was uncomfortably dirty in many ways. AC went out, so with temps in the 90s the inside was a balmy 82...all night and no way to open the windows. The bottom line is, with this booking there was a higher than normal cleaning fee. When we arrived we expected the place to be spotless. It was the opposite.This is also a duplex. That was not clear to us when we booked.……

“Perfect house for a group of 7 adults. Lots of comfy seating inside and out on the deck and dock. Well stocked with oil, spices, etc. Master bed was very comfortable. Other beds were OK. Dock area is small and not deep water. That didn't matter to us since we went in September. Wifi was very slow but we had 5 people trying to work so more our fault than the house. Overall, an excellent Lake Gaston rental. ”

“Met some friends for a girls weekend and had an amazing time. We all loved the location and the amenities. We did not leave at all. Views of the lake are stunning. It was on a quiet section of the lake and there were no houses directly across. The screen in porch with rocking chairs were perfect for morning coffee. “We very much enjoyed staying here. We had the mother in law suite part of the house which was more than adequate for our needs. We loved the historic home aspect to the site. Everything was clean and in order, owner was quick to respond to anything we conveyed to them, and it was lovely being the only ones staying at the house at the time. “This is an amazing property. The home is beautiful and sits on a quiet cove just off the main lake. The amenities were plentiful, including a new outdoor pool that we thoroughly enjoyed, games, floats, water toys and a large dock that easily accommodated our boat.
