Being in the heart of the town, Jackson Court is located only seconds from the main street where you will find a variety of quaint little shops and excellent restaurants and pubs, ideal if you don’t want to cook after your day exploring the beautiful Cumbrian countryside. There is an abundance of attractions close by, probably the most famous being Hadrian’s Wall, an iconic monument built by the Romans.
Stretching just over 70 miles from Wallsend near Newcastle, across the neck of England to the Solway in North West Cumbria. Within a few miles of Jackson Court, you can walk stretches of the wall and enjoy reading the history along the way. Talkin Tarn Country Park just outside the town is stunning with its 65-acre lake set amid 120 acres of farmland and woodland, the ideal place to enjoy a walk or even try your hand at some boating on the lake.
The beautiful border city of Carlisle is a short 20-minute drive away where you can visit the castle or just take in some retail therapy at some of the high street shops. Whilst staying at Jackson Court take a short drive over the border to the beautiful beaches of Dumfries and Galloway and the pretty village of Gretna Green. A must is a visit to the stunning Lake District National Park, now a World Heritage Site, with its mountains and lakes and thriving communities like Keswick and Windermere.
