“Room was great. Clean and well maintained. The pool water was very hot and cloudy. The pool is also not oceanfront so the deck area was very hot. Not awful as we came for the beach but it would have been nice to have the option. There were restaurants on either side with bars which made for a variety of evening entertainment options. Staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast area is very small but options were adequate. Free parking area was very limited and tight under the building but paid……

Safe, secure area. • Room Layout: Suites feature a small kitchen (with fridge), sitting area, and a vanity setup with extra mirrors, countertops, and outlets outside the bathroom. • Comfort: Very comfortable bed and pillows. “I loved the kitchenette and good size fridge was very useful. Breakfast was OK. Very clean bathroom. The floor at the entrance was a little sticky, didn’t cause much discomfort took me two minutes to wipe with wet paper towel. Great location. Satisfied overall.”

“The breakfast and service was very good! Our room needed a clothing hook repaired and the walk in shower floor was cracked. Other than those things needing some maintenance attention, everything else was just fine. It was a very convenient location for us. I would stay again.”

“The Shem Creek Inn was a good home base for us in Charleston. The hotel pool was great. The location overlooking the river was really fun for people watching! Hotel parking is really convenient. Walkable to several restaurants right on the water and a quick drive to other restaurants on Sullivan's Island. The hotel breakfast is ok. Not great, but easy. Fridge and microwave in the room were really helpful. We will definitely stay here again when we're back in the area.”

“Stayed here many times when my son was at the Citadel. That was 20 plus years ago when it was Mainstay Suites. Now it is Candlewood and the upgrade is awesome. Everything was top notched. No, there is no breakfast bar nor is there a pool. But the free coffee was excellent. But I would still there again. I love clean and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly.”
