Over the weekend, I found myself in southern Michigan visiting family. I got to live like a local for three days! One of my favorite parts was being so close to Lake Michigan. I know the sun is over exposed in this photo, but it screams summer warmth. I cannot wait for more lazy beach days this summer.

"We enjoyed our stay at Bluejay Lodge. It was a great place to relax and unwind. The hot tub was wonderful and clean. It was even better that it was on a covered porch, we had rain and storms on and off come through, and were still able to use it when it rained. The temperature of hot tub was perfect. It is off a busy hwy, but in March noise was not bad at all. In my past experience, we have been notifiied of rental location the evening before or in the early morning of arrival. We were emailed around 1:30 pm the day of for a 4 pm check-in. I would have preferred earlier. Especially with drving from a distance. Overall, it was a lovely place to relax and unwind. "

"This property is basically completely torn apart for remodel… a detail not disclosed by Expedia during my booking. The entire common area is unusable. Paying for a night in a hotel that literally makes you scared for your safety is insane. On top of that, at 6am the fire alarm starts blaring and you don’t know if construction people started a fire or someone burnt their toast. Very very disappointed with this stay."
