Ahoy Cottage is everything that a Straddie beach holiday should be. It's unpretentious and has that uniqueness that the original builders created with Straddie's own architectural style. The addition of a stunning rear cantilevered deck has added significantly to the liveability of the house. The views are vast at any time of day, particularly the sunsets. These originals were built to take in the sea breezes on offer and Ahoy is no different.
It has an unconventional layout with 2 bedrooms, the first bedroom (off the living room) with a King bed and air conditioning, and the second bedroom with a Queen Bed.
The property has a small but adequate kitchen and dining area which leads to the deck with a Weber BBQ to show off your outdoor cooking skills. Enjoy outdoor dining, read a book or sip an afternoon cocktail, all to be enjoyed with a spectacular view of Main Beach. The living space is also air conditioned.
If feeling energetic, the house is just a short walk down to Main Beach, the South Gorge and Frenchman's Beach for a surf or swim or go on the beautiful scenic walk around the Point Lookout headland and see if you can spot a dolphin or whale. On the way home, you may like to stop at the Surf Club for a drink on the balcony which has an amazing view.
One street away you'll find a quaint collection of cafes and shops for your convenience, including two gelati shops (which is a daily must!) Fish and Chippery, Bakery, The Prawn Shack seafood and the Blue Room cafe. Bus stop and kids playground within a 2-minute walk.
"Ahoy" is situated amongst several original cottages managed by Discover, making it perfect for several families wanting to stay close to each other. (Access to Ahoy may be a bit difficult for the elderly or people with limited mobility, parking on street. Please call the office to discuss.)
