“Our stay at the New Inn 1730 was only overnight, and we arrived around 6pm on a Sunday evening. This is a welcoming & friendly pub, with restaurant and accommodation. The owner did his best to accommodate our needs during our short stay, and is still finding his feet a little having only recently taken on the business. Food options were limited when we arrived, particularly for our two fussy children, so we did eat elsewhere that night, but the cooked breakfast in the morning was very good,……

“Had the most loveliest break away with the family. This was our third visit to barneys cottage and every time has been perfect. Our dogs loved the local walks seeing all the animals, the hot tub was a treat to come back to after a day of hiking and Kevin is always welcoming and accommodating. The cottage is cosy & peaceful and clean. We wouldn’t stay anywhere else when we visit the lakes with our pups. Already looking forward to booking our next visit! ”

“We went for a family stay and it did not disappoint! Warm cosy and we were welcomed with fresh bread and treats left for us. Karen came down to check everything was ok. They also cleared snow from the awning over the hot tub! Great hosts this is are 2nd visit as a family ”

“What a find! The property is a wonderful place to stay, very comfortable, rural, yet only 5 minutes from Kendal. On a few occasions, woke up to peacocks and goats at the bedroom patio doors.Katie was very friendly, and nothing was too much trouble. “A lovely designed cottage in a beautiful location. We enjoyed our long weekend stay for our son’s Birthday. We went on a couple of walks whilst we were there and the family relaxed at the cottage with added bonus of a hot tub to relax after the walks. We must also give a big mention to michael whose communication was first class, helping us with anything we needed and even suggesting to do and local taxi services. Prior to the stat and during he was always there to assist with anything we asked.”
