The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful, but they didn't help me take my baggage up to the room. It was a struggle to find the position of the slot for the key card , to turn on the lighting, whilst using luggage to prop the door open and attempting to use my mobile phone to illuminate the room interior. The room was clean and the facilities adequate - and the bed comfortable. However there was a disgusting smell in the bathroom, presumably owing to faulty drains . The water did not run down smoothly in the basin - it was on the verge of blocking. The hygiene of the bathroom was therefore questionable. I found a large fan plugged in and running beside the bed. Was this an attempt to disguise the smell ? On these grounds I would not stay in this hotel again
