The town center of Camogli, which occupies the valley to the west of Mount Portofino, overlooks Paradise Gulf at the western end of the Portofino promontory on the eastern Riviera, east of Genoa. Between Camogli and Portofino, in the clear waters of the Portofino protected natural area, the 1954 bronze statue of the "Christ of the Abyss" stands at a depth of 17 meters. The largest part of the Portofino regional nature park to be visited belongs to Camogli, and not to be missed is the defensive castle of Dragonara di Camogli, with a wonderful sea view. For a spiritual visit, it is impossible not to go to the luminous basilica of Santa Maria Assunta, built in 1826. Camogli - S.
