Sunset Captiva 17 Captiva Island Beach Side home with pool/dock/tennis

Sunset Captiva is one of the most popular vacation spots in Captiva Island, Florida. Sunset Captiva 17 is a perfect choice for your upcoming Captiva Island Vacation. Our vacation rental home has recently been completely updated with new paint, furniture, bedding and more. The spacious living area has a nice and open feel with an a nearby dining area and full kitchen. There are sliding doors leading to the expansive screened lanai. The main level of our home has a half bathroom as well. Up the stairs is the master bedroom suite with a very comfortable king sized bed, en-suite bathroom and sun deck. The second level also features a guest bedroom with an all new king sized bed, en-suite full bathroom and a small alcove in between the bedrooms with a bunk bed for additional guests. Sunset Captiva community features great amenities including a large heated pool, bbq grills, tennis courts, direct beach access and even boat dockage (fee applies). With it's Village Area location you can also park at the home and walk to the beach as well as nearby shops and restaurants.

***Please be advised that the Sunset Captiva swimming pool is expected to reopen by mid November.
Following the pool reopening, construction of the new pavilion will begin once the required permit has been received. 

The dock for Sunset Captiva is currently available dusk to dawn as electric has not yet been established. Contact office for docking information

My friends and I have visited Captiva many times over the past 15 years and our favorite place to stay is in the Sunset Captiva neighborhood. The location to the beach, restaurants, shopping cannot be beat! The gorgeous landscaping and well-maintained homes and grounds are outstanding. It’s quiet and a great place to come to relax and recharge! Cannot recommend enough! This home was the most beautiful!

Great beach stay

The house was very nice and clean, in a small residential "development" one block south of the main "commercial street" of Captiva. It's easy to walk anywhere via the beach or the street. It's a one minute walk to the pool and maybe two minutes to the beach (via a small wooden path by the pool). The pool is fine. Nothing special, but a good option for the kids at times. The beach is great, though was surprisingly more crowded than expected. Still, we were always able to carve out space for our stuff without having to "get there early to reserve a spot". Speaking of stuff, we loved the rusty little cart provided and used it a ton to bring all our stuff to the beach (most of which was provided by the host). Chairs, umbrella (we donated a 2nd one to the cause), rafts, pool noodles, etc. There's an outdoor shower (also great) to rinse off all your post-beach sand as well. Beds were a little lumpy, but fine. Kitchen is nice. Hard to find much of anything to complain about. My favorite part of the house is the screened lanai. Even though the houses are close together, there's so much tropical vegetation, that it feels very private. I would certainly recommend this house for anyone looking for a nice family stay very close to the beach.

This is a lovely home, in a great neighborhood, in one of my favorite places! The home was incredibly clean - we marveled about it several times and nicely decorated. We felt like it was "home" not just a rental.

The property was beautifully decorated, clean, and in a quiet neighborhood yet just steps from the pool, beach, and a number of nearby restaurants. Some minor things were missing such as a corkscrew for wine and no kitchen towels or hot pads. We had no trouble making do in spite of that. Overall a wonderful stay.

Captive in Captiva

We enjoyed our stay at17 Sunset Captiva . The house is an older house, but has been updated. The house does have stairs to enter, but wasn't a problem for us. It's located close to the community pool and easy walk to beach. Plenty of room for family of four. Kitchen was well stocked w/ utensils. But, bring a casserole dish as they don't have. Bedding was good. Mattresses probably need to be switched out in near future. Porches are excellent! Breakfast every morning on main level screen porch and above is a sun deck - perfect retreat to lounge and read or listen to the wind and waves. Several good restaurants within walking distance. Fun and tropical feel island. We'll be back.

Great house in a great location

This was a great house! Wonderful location with a very short walk to the beach, pool, and nearby restaurants and Manatee! We did not even need to rent a golf cart. The screened-in porch was wonderful for the one morning we had rain and for wet kids to dry off and warm up after a day at the beach. The only issues we had were that there were a few dirty pots and utensils in the cabinets and that the sheets would not stay on the beds. I would either recommend the property owners get deep pocket sheets or that renters bring some with you when you come. Also, just be aware that the twin beds are in the landing at the top of the stairs, so it’s not very quiet or private for whomever sleeps there, but that didn’t really bother our son. Other than that everything was fabulous. Well decorated and very comfy for our family of four. Would definitely stay at this house again if we come back to Captiva!

Beautiful home, great location

Home was nicely decorated, well kept, comfortable and great location in the Sunset Captiva neighborhood. Steps to the pool. Very short walk to beach. Wonderful outdoor shower for getting sand off you after the beach. Had a small issue with a toilet and was fixed in a jiffy! Quite place. Great deck and Lanai. Was our 5th time to the island and 4th time staying in the neighborhood. Best home we’ve stayed in! Don’t forget to pack coffee filters and salt and pepper! 😄 Will stay again for sure.

Excellent experience with Ryan and his team at Dream Vacations!

Very professional service, responsive, house was spotless even delivered a brand new grill on the day we arrived when the other one was not working. Made effort to ensure we had a restful and relaxing vacation. Would highly recommend!
