"Staff were excellent especially Kaylor and the team, very warm and helpful with organising our tours. Food options also very good and place is quiet and in the middle of nature. Accomodation is ok, little bit rustic but then it is an eco lodge and you paying for seclusion and to be close to wildlife. Would recommend overall"

"Fabulous stay at Miss Junie’s
Stayed there a full week
Room was spacious with comfortable bed and bedding
Large shower with hot water a bonus
Housekeeping was well done
Veranda was lovely to sit on during evening
Property is large with good sized pool
Location at north end of town so less noisy than in town.
Daily breakfast was plentiful and delicious
Staff were the best part of stay - assistance with arranging excursions. Victor was always there with a smile.
We would absolutely return"

"Location is nice and convenient, close to ocean and national park. Issues we had (and hence 3 stars) are: rooms are very dark, very dim lighting, showers had no hot water half the time and when there was hot water then pressure in shower was very weak, dribble.
Breakfast was good and nature all around. "

"Terrible location if you don’t have a rental. Too far to walk to town or the beach and local taxis and Ubers are unfamiliar with its location in the sticks. No restaurants nearby. This is an eco lodge, meaning, no air conditioning, and boy will you miss hit. You will boil alive in your room. Staff provided an extra fan, which did little to help."

"Unfortunately I was unable to enjoy a stay at the Casa Grande. There is no road to the place, i.e. they have to pick you up by boat. I sent an e-mail, left two WhatsApp messages and tried calling 4 times, all to no avail. Even 2 days later I have not heard from them. I ended up in Parismina without any recourse to get to the place, and so I had to find a different accommodation there. Very unfortunate. If you can book this place in the morning for the evening, the resort must respond, otherwise...

"Excellent staff and the property is reminiscent of a resort more so than a hotel/stay. Access to beach is extremely easy, attached to the backside of the property, though the beachfront is not 'developed' or 'set up' so do not expect a resort-like sun-chair set up. Excellent location if you want to be away from the hustle bustle of puerto viejo, but still biking distance to get to all the shops and cafes. Fabiano at the front desk, and Rosita for breakfast service, were both absolute delights and extremely helpful :)"
"Nous sommes tombés en amour avec cet hôtel. Nous avions un bungalow avec air climatisé. Très utile car c'est chaud et humide en août. Nous avons vu des perroquets, des toucans et des singes hurleurs sur notre site. Nous avons aussi fait la sortie pour voir la ponte des tortues vertes. C'était vraiment super génial. Nous reviendrons certainement. La restauration est délicieuse. Tout était parfait."
"We had the best stay at awa!! The property is very tastefully done , location on the beach is perfect , breakfast and just food overall (including the coffee) overall is delicious, and I can’t say enough good things about the staff , esp. Johnny .. he went out of his way to help us with some last minute booking changes that we would’ve otherwise stressed about. I also asked the reception staff about the amazing coffee they serve and they were kind enough to give me a sample !! Overall very relaxing and enjoyable stay and totally worth it !! Highly recommend AWA and we hope to be back"
"Lovely boutique hotel, good location. My only gripe being due to a mix up our room wasn't cleaned one day.
The staff were so friendly, the wildlife on site was unreal and hotel has a real aire of class about it.
Thank you!"
"The place was nice except that the power was out due to a bad storm, so we couldn’t do that much. The beach front was not great since it had been storming and the hotel could not keep up with it."
"Cada año volvemos al menos una vez a la zona, el caribe tiene las mejoras playas, comida y ambiente y en cada vez elegimos Villas de Caribe, el acceso a la playa es un privilegio y los jardines están llenos de vida."
