It was a perfect place for our family attending a wedding in Doylestown. It was close to all of the festivities. Kitchen was well stocked and beds were comfortable.

Incredibly clean, double booked
I want to start off with a positive which this was a very clean property inside and the furnishings were comfortable as well. The problem we encountered was the property was double booked through VRBO and another platform. A few hours into our evening another family came to check in. The other family left and they were very gracious, finally locating hotel rooms to accommodate the 6 of them. In the mean time, I made numerous attempts to reach the owner as did the other family. Ended up contacting VRBO who reached him on a vacation out of the country. Not only did he not apologize or take ownership he blamed the mix up with VRBO when speaking to me, but with the other family he said I had no claim on being in the house despite my booking two weeks prior and having a confirmation, (The other family and I stayed in contact and he sent screen shots.) Not only did I spend a few hours during a family vacation trying to sort this out, there was a concern that the other family had the entry code. While they truly seemed like trustworthy people, it was prudent to address this. The owner said to disassemble the door lock and reset the code. Not an easy task. Overall, I was really surprised that he did not even attempt to apologize. It most definitely was a security issue, fortunately the other family was remarkably kind. They, too, could have made the situation worse. It's the owner's responsibility to update his calendar when having multiple listings rather than shift the blame.

Sarah, I'm not sure why you never mentioned what VRBO support explained to you. I called you couple times to resolve this issue and you did not respond... Finally I called to VRBO support and they made a conference call (you, me, and VRBO support). They admitted(you heard it) that overbooking happened because of their system did not sync the calendars (it was NOT my fault). I believe they and I apologized about the situation. If I did not apologize please except my apologies now. I was not aware about overbooking because your booking was not in my inbox and in the calendar. Also I was not able to reset the door code as you requested as I was too far away. I was on a vacation in Dominican Republic at that time. Otherwise I would do it for you.

The house was as advertised. It is located on a quiet street in a calm neighborhood. The neighbors seemed very friendly. The backyard was a lovely place for our infant son to play. Val responded quickly to any questions and concerns that we had. He was a wonderful host.

Good house for location
The house was in a good location location for our needs. Beds were comfortable but the back yard wasn't fenced properly to contain my dogs (Siberians) which is why we rented the home to begin with. House was a good value, dispite a few things. Quiet neighborhood was a plus.

Large fenced yard, clean house, great experience
My husband and I stayed here 3 nights with our 70 lb dog. Our daughter and son in law and their 50 lb dog visited us for a full day. It was spacious enough for us all! The house was very clean. The yard is huge and was fantastic for the dogs to play in. The house is 1955-era but the updated kitchen and bathrooms are nice and practical. There is a half bath on the main floor and a full bath on the top floor. Plenty of space with 3 bedrooms, ample size living room with large TV. Dining table seats 6. Kitchen was well supplied. Bonus rooms were: a basement room with foosball table (would be great for older kids to hang out in) and an enclosed back porch. Unfussy lived-in furnishings. Washer and dryer in basement worked great. Extra dog dishes and leash for dogs were handy. Friendly, quiet neighborhood. Val was pleasant and easy to communicate with.

Great place but.....
It was a great property and as seen in pictures, perfect set up for my family. Thankful he allowed our parrot to join us. I would stay again except for the ant problem. In the disclaimer it says bugs are not an excuse for refund, that they will have an exterminator come but with having our pet there I didn't feel comfortable having an unknown exterminator coming and spraying who knows what that may be harmful to my pet. So we were left with dealing with the ants on our own with stuff we felt comfortable using. Even with dealing with it ourselves it was an every day thing. Annoying to deal with while on vacation. Since it was in the disclaimer it likely was a known issue but wasn't dealt with ahead of time.

Great home for traveling with pets.
We were so grateful to have this nice clean property with a large fenced yard for our dogs. The kitchen and dining area was great and the small office area also perfect, The property manager was so attenative and very responsive. I would definitely stay here again.

Great location, nice house
We had a wonderful time here. We visited Philadelphia and the Poconos. Also, many great places here as well. We made a traditional Thanksgiving dinner and had everything we needed. A beautiful place, we a sad to be leaving so soon.

Attentive host, wonderful stay
The location and house were perfect for our family. There is ample space to sleep and congregate in. Val was a gracious host, attentive to our needs, and responded immediately to all communications. We would stay here again. My only complaint is that it was too cold to utilize the huge outdoor space which includes a wood-fire pizza oven....

The home was very clean, which is appreciated. The home sleeps a lot but there were only 3 of us, which was nice since there is only one full bath. Beware the extra charge per person, I did not feel that was adequately represented when I booked originally. The owner did work with me to credit me when some of our party decided not to go, The owner came to the door 2 times during our 3 night stay. The instructions on the refrigerator say to empty all garbages (there were no liners in the bathroom garbages), clean and put away all dishes, and leave the home as clean as possible. Besides those things that irked me the home is in nice, convenient location, and was clean.

Clean home on quiet street, great for a family
Our family stayed in this home for 5 days because my son was getting married in the area. It was a lovely home with plenty of room for all of us. There are a/c units in each window of the bedrooms and living room. The kitchen was well-stocked with the essentials for cooking meals. It is a few miles from a lake that has a wonderful paved track for walking or bike riding. This was a great stay, and Val was a very helpful host.

Simple and close to a lot
We stayed here while bouldering at Haycock. It was well suited for kids. We were here over Thanksgiving and some kitchen supplies (such as another rack in the oven) would have been helpful, but nothing that was super important.

Great house for the money
This house was great. Although not a huge mansion, it was plenty big enough for the money. For the cost of a mediocre hotel room, you have four separate bedrooms and a dining/living area that can accomodate a group. We comfortably had between 5-7 guests on different nights and we had plenty of space to socialize and saved the cost of getting 4-5 hotel rooms. The owner was quick to respond to our questions and was receptive to our feedback. I would highly recommend this unit for someone needing lodging in the area.

Fine, but not worth the hotel price they're charging
The 'little house' as my niece called this property was perfectly live-able, with a new kitchen (that had very little stock in the way of pots, utensils, etc., which is surprising given the specifications on dishes and storage in the rental instructions) and fine living space. It was clean, despite the lingering scent of cats (which had my brother-in-law, who is very allergic, quite sick). The disappointment was the furniture - most of it was very old and uncomfortable, particularly the pull out sofas that several of us had to sleep on. The hot water took a while to get going but otherwise the bathrooms were fine. It was a fine house, just not worth the price.

Beautiful Home!
This property has been one of the best ones we have been in. The house is located in a beautiful quiet neighborhood. Inside this home was very clean and organized. Val was extremely attentive and very friendly! Definitely recommend this place for anyone visiting PA!

House has great potential!
The location of the house is great, just 15 minutes from Doylestown and close to Philly. The proximity to Peace Valley Lake & Lake Nockamixon was a bonus. The house is large and spacious with a yard and garage. The house has a large updated kitchen, dining room, living room, small game room which leads out to the patio, and a powder room on the 1st floor. There was one window AC unit in the living room, which was sufficient to cool the downstairs except the game room. The 2nd floor has a full bathroom and 3 bedrooms, one of which is set up as an office (w/a pullout couch), which was awesome b/c I was on a working vacation. The master bedroom has a huge walk-in closet. All of the bedrooms have window ACs, which kept the whole upstairs quite cool. We slept in the 2nd bedroom b/c the mattress in the master was too firm. Upon check-in, we noticed the center light bulb of the living room ceiling fan was hanging from its fixture. It was broken. The house was very warm upon arrival. None of the AC units were turned on. The grass was only partially mowed. There were piles of yard waste and a lawnmower in the front yard. Weeds were poking up thru the grass. The refrigerator and freezer needed to be wiped out b/c there were actually dead bugs inside! On the last day, there were more in the freezer that I wiped out. The shower curtain was ripped. There were small ants in the house the entire week before any food was brought in. The AC unit made a VERY loud buzzing noise every so often, which woke us out of a sound sleep on more than one occasion! We never used the patio. The cushions on the outdoor furniture were dirty and moldy and essentially unusable and the back yard just wasn’t that inviting. On the other hand, the front porch was! We moved the small table and chairs in the front yard to the front porch and sat out there often. There was no power cord for the monitor in the office. The owner responded quickly and provided one the next day. The garage was full of stuff:( Again, the owner responded quickly and cleared some space for us, but it didn’t have a lock, and we didn’t want to put our expensive bikes in there. The basement is a very large space with a washer and dryer and separate game room with ping pong that had a door that leads to the driveway. I would encourage the owner to paint, update the furniture, and stock the kitchen better – there wasn’t even a spatula! b/c it really is a great house in a great location.

Great, Comfortable and Convenient!
Val was a wonderful host! We had a few questions when we first arrived and he was incredibly responsive, accommodating and friendly. My family and I were incredibly comfortable and the house was a great size for 4 of us and our small dog. Close to some great restaurants and an easy drive to Doylestown. Thank you!
