"Jazz at the Front Desk is amazing. Engaging, friendly and customer service orientated. Usually stay at Hilton Gardens on vacations but especially during spring break becoming too pricey. This Hampton Inn is only new carpet (in the common areas) away from equaling the next level stay. Huge plus: parking garage on site !"

"Room was clean, staff friendly and breakfast as advertised. We enjoyed our stay for sure. It’s also conveniently located to the Charleston sites. It was very crowded with guests for breakfast and difficult to navigate so might suggest a different layout. "

"Good location and close to waterfront. The breakfast was good and had a variety of hot as well as cold items. Coffee available anytime. Parking garage is nearby and well lit. We had a clogged shower and a heat issue. The maintenance guy was there in minutes. The room was cleaned daily and well done. Having allergies I was alert to this. Staff were always helpful and pleasant to deal with. I’d stay there again. 😊"

"You have to be kidding we stayed at the original Citadel. That being said the place really needs sprucing up. Peeling paint and stained carpets everywhere. Awesome location. Central to everything. Bed was one of the better ones we've slept on."

"Shops on campus are very nice and upscale. Sweet water cafe across the street from main entrance is good for a quick breakfast. Also, try Millers on King St for breakfast. "

"This property was absolutely disgusting. Upon arriving to the property, there was a woman screaming that her luggage had been stolen from outside of the office. Got to the room and immediately noticed large amounts of black mold on the headboard of one of the beds. There were dead cockroaches on the floor. When I left to go to the store, my son (who is autistic) stayed to take a shower. He texted me shortly after, in a panic, saying that he was locked inside of the bathroom. The bathroom door did not have a lock on either side, it was just in such poor condition that it had jammed shut. When I arrived, I notified the staff and they had to come ram the door open. I went to the office to report the mold, cockroaches, and overall horrible condition and uncleanliness of the room. The answer I got was “well, you can try to find a room elsewhere”. This is by far the worst hotel I have EVER been to. DO NOT stay here! "
