The Ryder Hotel

6/10 Okay

"We arrived on a sat excited to sit by the pool and have a drink. We were quickly told by the hostess that we couldn’t sit in the open table areas without a reservation. It was near the fireplace and no one was sitting there. She was little help and was very rude. Poor first impression. We then continued to make our way to the pool bar to get a drink and the bartender was nearly as rude. Will not return for price we paid."

"This is an older hotel, however it is very well maintained and the rooms and baths are modern. It has a charming atmosphere and a beautiful court yard area with lots of seating. Each floor had a station with a coffee maker, ice, fresh fruit and bottled water for your convenience. The hotel is also centrally located. I would recommend the Emeline!"

"The Pro's - check in was smooth and quick -1-bedroom apartment was spacious -Shower was awesome -Location was excellent The Con's -Apartment smelled of mildew and mold -Bedroom mattress was sunken in; I had to sleep on the couch. My husband tried to sleep sideway on the bed, but it did not help -Living room TV did not function properly -Breakfast was under whelming -Lots of extra fees and charges that are not included in the initial room price, so make sure you add it all up to get the total price. -Parking is not included My husband and I ended up leaving a day early because we could not sleep here one more night. It was such a shame because we love Charleston. The experience with this hotel made our trip not enjoyable. I would like to mention that the desk manager did take care of us and credited our account with a discount. My recommendation is to find another hotel!!"
