A bright spacious private timber cabin, on a beautiful 11acre off-grid property!
10/10 Excellent
"Beautiful cabin in a gorgeous location! Elke had lit the fire for us already so it was warm and welcoming. Has everything you need, including lots of firewood to stay warm - the bathroom is very cold though, so take slippers and jumpers. Braidwood is a nice town to visit and get some supplies, then we spent most of our time reading and watching the birds. The little trail through the woods is a good outing, but the guidebook isn't lying when it says to watch out for leeches - they WILL crawl up your trouser leg, they WILL bite you *through* your sock, and they WILL drop off several hours later so well fed that you'll think you accidentally brought a slug in. Even with this leech this was a perfect winter getaway and we can't recommend it enough!"
"We thoroughly enjoyed a stay at Marguerite House. The location was perfect for wandering around Braidwood, and the home itself was perfect for our family of five. There was a brown out on our first night there, and Jacqui was amazing at keeping us up to date with the situation, which was fixed by the local power provider quickly. All in all, it was a very relaxing and comfortable stay."

"Elke is the most wonderful host, with prompt and helpful communication. Even the beautiful pictures and accurate description of the property do not do it justice, there is creative detail and care in every corner. We spent two cosy evenings there, warmed by the beautiful wood fire, watching the brightest stars in the sky we have ever seen, admiring the beautiful interiors and artworks created by the hosts, and enjoying the lack of digital distractions. The guest book is filled with heaps of helpful information, we loved the coffee at Deadwood and the trail to Big Hole and Marble Arch. Thank you, Elke and Christopher, we hope weāll be back! "Words are beyond our wonderful experience at Bawley Ridge Farmhouse. Billās warm and friendly greeting upon arrival at The Farmhouse was just the beginning of a fabulous 24 hour stay. The fire had already been lit and the cosy atmosphere was established from the onset. After a late afternoon walk we came back to find at the front door, a basket of freshly baked bread, local honey, butter, fresh eggs from the resident chooks and a lovely bottle of wine. The outdoor bath was put to use and enjoyed by all. The kitchen is amazingly well equipped with everything a home cook would ever need. A vast array of cookbooks could provide plenty of inspiration. The beds were comfy with the added luxury of electric blankets. Bill and Cam obligingly made up twin beds for our 2 adult children. Was so lovely to have quality linen and towels provided. Bill and Cam generously agreed to early check in and late check out. Felt very grateful for no minimum night stay and being able to just spend one night although we all wanted to stay longer and were loathe to leave. The ocean view from the verandah was glorious. Next time will take advantage of the chiminea. Was lovely to meet Cam the next day and chat to both Bill and Cam before we left. Communications were easy, friendly and questions quickly responded to. Arrival and departure procedures were a breeze. I highly recommend staying at Bawley Ridge Farm and Cottage. Thank you so much Bill and Cam."
