Nice place outside of the city

The property was as described. The owner is not easy to get hold of which I didn’t care for, but eventually did repond to me and was polite. I would consider staying here again if/when we come back this way. It was close enough to all of the the things we wanted to see.

Everything was as advertised. Had a small problem with the tv and Brandon fixed it immediately. Highly recommend this house!

It was okay not great

They were kind to let us check In a little earlier. It’s a nice property and convenient for our needs. Had plenty of towels for everyone, an keurig coffee maker and beds were comfortable. I communicated with the host twice after checking in once because the previous guests left behind a dress in a garment bag and second because there was a mouse in the home and they never responded to either. The house has a lot of moths ants and insects. Because we are not bougie we handled things okay. There was also not enough night stands or places to put your belongings when you shower. Overall best part was it was clean and beds were comfortable.

Ok house

The house was fine. Looks mostly renovated but not quite done. Nice quiet neighborhood within walking distance of several restaurants. There were not enough clean towels for all of us (7 of us, 5 towels). We ended up going out and purchasing some/leaving them so there should be enough now! There was a dirty towel in the basement closet and a dirty sock and washcloth on the basement couch. Main issue though was that the owner never responded to any of the messages I sent. The lock on the front door kept telling us the batteries needed changing so we were concerned it would stop working and it would lock us out. Fortunately, it didn't happen but I sent a message regarding this on Friday with no response from host by the time we left on Sunday. Furniture was a little old/dirty and fitted sheet on the bed in the basement didn't fit so kept coming off. Nothing huge but all the negatives did add up.

Beautiful house overall

Our group was in town for a renaissance faire and everyone really liked the place overall. It was clean and well decorated. Our issue was communication with the owner. We had a question about our checkout time because there were two different times listed on the email we received and then the check in list that was sent to us. After not getting a response back we asked again and thr owner finally responded back. Day two we noticed water leaking from a utility room in the basement. We tried contacting the owner about it as we were getting ready to leave for the day but ended up delaying our plans to try and clean up all the water and make sure the basement wouldn't flood. As previously commented there was a sewer like smell in the basement after the water leak that did not go away. Our stay was for four days and from day two to our final day I never heard back from the owner and still to this day have not. We had to work around all of our plans for the remainder of the trip and even went out to purchase towels since the ones supplied were being used to soak up water. I feel like if the owner had respnded and apologized we would have been happy with our stay but the lack of communication added stress to our trip for everyone and we felt responsible for handling the leak. We all worked very hard to take a trip like this, it takes a lot of planning and the last thing we wanted to worry about was cleaning up water non stop, stressing about what we would find after leaving for the

Worked for our family of 6

Property was clean and recently renovated- Fresh paint, new appliances, new bathrooms. The kids complained of basement bathroom being buggy, upstairs was fine. The owner didn’t send details until the night before arrival and did not respond to any of my messages. It made us nervous but all worked out ok. Great area- Very centrally located. Would stay again.

Would never stay here again

The upstairs of the property was decent, but one of the closets was not completed and seemed eerie. The downstairs was freezing and there were bugs roaming around the bedroom. We had to move the headboard away from the wall as we were concerned the bugs would go onto the bed. Then, while washing (since they stated they had a washer and dryer), someone used the bathroom downstairs and tons of water started coming up the water drain in the washroom. The bottom floor started to flood, but luckily we were there to place towels. We contacted the owner and no one would pick up. We contacted VRBO and they asked if we had contacted the owner, which of course we had but no response. This happened on a Saturday and after many texts with no responses, someone showed up to fix it on Monday. Mind you the whole downstairs smelled like a sewer. Also, we came to the house on Sunday to find tons of water on the kitchen floor and under the kitchen sink. This water also traveled downstairs through a vent on the kitchen floor that goes into the washroom downstairs. It seems this place was purchased and they are still renovating. In all honesty, the owner should be giving us some money back. Sleeping downstairs while smelling like a sewer for 2 days is unsanitary and unacceptable. Sadly, no one returns my texts.

Great Chicago option!

One of the nicer properties ive rented! This property met its advertised description. Everything worked and there were no problems. It seemed to be a newly renovated home in an older community. The location is great, with highway access nearby. There are plenty of food and bar options near also. Only minor annoyance is the really squeaky floors, the old house smell, and Chicago traffic. Otherwise this would be a 10/10

Great house

This house was nice. It fit our family perfectly. The only thing negative I can say is it did lack on some of the kitchen utensils and the yard wasn’t mowed and was overgrown. Past that the house was great and we really enjoyed our stay.

Thanksgiving dinner

The property was really nice. It did fit our family needs to enjoy time with my daughter in the navy. The only problem that we had was that the main floor bathroom sink was clogged. They did try to work on it but it didn't really work.
